How many death blow animations have you gotten on dragons? Any method to them? I keep reloading right before I kill my 1st dragon outside whiterun trying to get the animation makes me so sad that I can't

They occur randomly wherever I'm standing even if it wasn't me who delivered the final blow (usually Shadowmere)

My barbarian had about 4 (lvl 33 now)

My bard got 3 so far ( lvl 32)

I've seen only one, two times. I might be disappointed if the animation was interactive.

I've gotten them several times. I've found I only started getting them when I got enough health to not care if I stood in front of the dragon or not, so it seems you have to be at least near the head. I've gotten them when next to the head or right in front of it. I've gotten it from a 1h power attack, DW power attack and normal attacks.

I've been getting them a bunch with my shield/1h 'paladin.' He's a Nord, so it's especially possible when I'm up against a frost dragon. I actually like how viable it is to fight a dragon on the ground once you've made him land. Shield bash is just as useful against a dragon as it is against any opponent. This allows me to get some fun kill animations once the dragon is under 10%.

I'd say I've gotten one on 3 out of 4 dragon fights so far. Helps to have a companion or to have the fight happen near guards/allies.

I've gotten a lot, but none unique. Then again i play sword and board right in at the dragons head so i can quickly bash any breathes and block the bites easily.

About 3 or 4 out of maybe 30 close kills right next to the head in both 3rd and 1st person. Only seen one variation though. Basically same thing from the Demo Todd played with the Ice Dragon. Jump on its head and smash or stab it.
