Why so much problems due to the new patch ?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 5:23 am

Hi guys,
I got a problem cause of the new 1.9 version (I have not installed the DX11 and high textures patch). Indeed, since that update has been released, I can't play this amazing game seriously because of freezing or because my game slows down everytime.
My computer is not new for sure but before the patching I could run the game perfectly.
I just don't understand why the developpers had to make it impossible for some players not to play this game anymore. I'm a bit a kind of disgusted :(
I loved the first crysis and crysis warhead and crysis wars and crysis 2 even if the game has a bit changed, but now I wonder wether I'll buy other games developped by crytek if they prevent players from playing their games when those players have always bought their games ....

Yeah, I'm currently stuck with so many crashes that its become impossible to complete a level anymore, mostly because I can't even load checkpoints, let alone run an entire mission before I crash.

In german: Wasch laberscht du?

All we have to do is: wait... till Crytek releases a proper patch with a lot of bugfixes for problems like that.

Is my english so bad ? I haven't used a translator yet ^^
Aber ich kann auch ein bischen Deutsch, wenn Sie wollen ^^ Na klar, ich soll noch lernen aber es ist schon verschtandlich oder ? :p

I read that some of you have problems in single player mode but I only have problems on the multiplayer one.
Actually, I tried some little things like udpating my graphic card or cutting some programs but it still doesn't work.

My configuration :
Processor : Intel Double Core, 2.13GHz
RAM : 2,00 Go
Windows Vista SP1 32 bits
Graphic Card : Nvidia Geforce GTS 250

It's not incredible but 4 years ago it was ^^
But as I said, I could perfectly run the game before the update.

I would have to agree that performance has dropped a lot since the 1.9 patch.

I had a Core 2 Duo running at 3ghz before the patch and the MP game was very playable. After the patch I was getting an average 20fps - I couldn't realistically play online anymore. I have just replaced the Core 2 Duo with a Core 2 Quad and performance is back to where it should be. However I still get occasional drops to 20fps in some situations - mostly when the penthouse starts getting trashed on Skyline. I have my FPS capped at 50 and most of the time it stays around that number.

To be honest I'm surprised you can get any kind of decent performance with your Dual Core running at just 2.1ghz. This game is CPU intensive. My 3Ghz quad shows all cores running at about 75-85% during play.

I have a question for corei5/i7 owners - what sort of usage are you processors getting whilst playing the MP?
