Crysis 2 runs like crap! Help! settings

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 10:07 pm

Lowest of low settings? I got my game.cfg set to sys_spec = -1

I got my video card options all set to performance. (not quality... game looks like ARSE) I get 5-10 fps MP and lag and delays when I shoot (saying I DIDN"T SHOOT) or like if I light a guy up on killcam it shows me just "starting" to shoot instead of the fact i unloaded a clip on him while he stood there.

I got 12-20mbps down 1-2mpbs up internet.

Winxp sp2 home 32bit Dx9c

3.6 ghz p4 prescott 660 cpu

asus p5nd2-sli (non deluxe) mobo

Sapphire Vapor-x radeon hd 5770 1gb ddr5 card (borrowed, Can I run SLI or Xfire with second 5770?)

550w psu antec true power trio

I ran Crysis 1 as maxed out as it could with the "secret" configs and settings enabled so it looked really trippy with particles everywhere and HDR etc. etc.

Sorry, but this is your problem, right there. That's like using a 1.8GHz core2duo with one core disabled.

I see it's a socket 775 board. But I don't think you can put a core2duo in there. A fast Pentium D would be twice as good as what you've got now, but it still may not be great.

Hi. you could try my little tool here: https://secure.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=34056&p=363190&hilit=ahk+scripts#p363190 (LowGraphicsMod)
If you want these changes in you game.cgf, just copy the altered cvars into it ;)

Alternatively you could try this config: http://tobialess.cwsurf.de/Zeugs/LoFi.zip (i never tested it, but a friend of mine used it)

And perhaps this site can help you too: http://cell-systems.net/cfg-maker/client-cfg-maker/create-crysis2”-autoexec-cfg/

I managed to run crysis2 on a radeon x1800 and a athlon64 3700+ with about 20-30 frames. some graphical cletches sure but quiete playable espacially in the campaign. And yeah ugly as hell...

You should stop wasting money on that PC and go and build a new 1, you shouldnt of really bothered puting a 5770 in it as the P4 will bottleneck it

Well actually, athlon 64 is a lot better than pentium 4, even at much lower frequencies.

^^
This is gonna cause you problems, mine is 'sys_spec = 4', make sure you set the game.cfg to 'read only' and if you can OC your CPU that will help you too cause the game uses a lot more CPU power than most games.
