I think i've managed to accidently sell the coral claw which I need to complete a quest.

Now when I get to Yngol barrow I can get through the first gate but the claw is not in my inventory neither does it appear on the dias at the start of the dungeon.
Is there any way I can be given the claw again?
Will the person I sold it to still have it? (Although I'll have to question half the vendors in the game to discover who has it!)
Or am I stuck and unable to complete (or remove) this quest from my log?

Im playing on xbox and would appreciate any advice.

I think you may be screwed.

You're best bet is to check every vendor if you need it really badly.

The vendor you sold the claw to holds on to it until you buy it back it won't disappear.

So some items you sell to vendors are persistant in their inventory?
I thought they all seemed to reset after 24 hours or so.

I sold a claw I already used to a vendor and it was still in their inventory after about a month into game time.

It is also possible that you may not yet found the claw for that particular door/gate etc. My game never allows me to sell the claws which are yet to fulfill their purposes. I can sell claws of doors related to my completed quests though.

I've done this.

If you know the correct answer for a puzzle door, enter it. Then, activate the key hole. The claw will magically appear. I know it sounds like BS, but I've done it twice.

BTW, I use the guide to get the correct answers.

on PC you could summon it back in Console.

on Xbox go back to the store where you sold it and pray its still there.

I'm on xbox, in Yngols barrow. I've set the rings to snake/wolf/moth (as per guide) click on ring and get 'you need the claw to activate this'

Well i've found one of the old claws i've sold so they're persistant in vendors inventory.
Unfortunately it's not the one I need...
