Chests containing lots of jewels all of a sudden

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 10:09 am

Has anyone experienced finding LOTS and i mean LOTS of emeralds, diamonds, sapphires, etc in most of the chests you open?? Seems like after the new 1.2 update, there are so many gems and rubys that I don't have enough vendors to sell them to. I can't tell if it's the patch or maybe it happens when you reach a certain level or something...

anyone else see this?

Possibly more a result to the loot levelling up with your character. Haven't noticed any more additional than usual tbh.

Can't say I've noticed. But then, I'm playing v1.00 and only level 20. (I play slow.)

I do occasionally find something awesome, or occasionally kill someone who has an awesome weapon. It's these rare events that keep the game interesting, it's how gambling addiction works :)

It's not the guarantee of reward, it's the prospect.

Have you, by any chance, picked a specific lock-pick perk?

Because I have not noticed any difference in the amount of twinkling stones in containers.

yeah, i used to get really excited finding a chest with emeralds or diamonds but I swear, a lot of chests i open have like 1 emerald, 2 rubys, a diamond, and whatever else. I am level 50 and pretty high up on SpeechCraft from selling a lot of items. I haven't made any selections in the Speechcraft constellation on the leveling up system.

I did pick the first perk in Lock-Picking where novice locks are 10% easier. I don't see why that would increase gems.

The reason it was brought up is because at Lockp[ick 60 you can take a Perk that nets you 50% more Gold from chests and then at Lockpick 70 there is a Perk that gives you a 50% better chance to find "special treasure".

hmm, idk then. I haven't unlocked any perks in that area except the very first one. I'm thinking it's just another of many bugs in this game.

This. If you have finished the quest jewels will start showing up in every container.

On one of my characters, just one, I had a habit of finding gems in places I normally never found them, from the spiders in the tutorial area to the bandits, crabs, and draugr I killed, to the urns and chests I looted.

It was quite an odd phenomenon. He died, and it never happened again.
