Yeah he is funny, but he's never the deciding factor for my game purchases...he speaks a lot of truth about the industry as a whole, and roasts good games a lot but thats about it...

sorry if it's a repost, the pace of this forum is incredibly fast it's hard to keep up.

and... I find him entertaining. that's it. his reviews make me laugh, I don't know anything else about it.

you sound like you've got some sort of hang up. does he make you feel a bit inferior?

Getting a little bit defensive there now aren't you ? It was a valid question.

I personally think he's okay but I only watch his reviews when he reviews a game I've played. I guess I like how he seems to speak his personal mind rather than just praise or flame a game. (Obviously he has personal opinions which means he only praises or only flames some games but it's still his opinion and not the opinion of $$$)

fantastic... he pretty much summed up my feeling about the game as a whole as well:

skyrim has a lot of flaws, but if it means less games treating me like a child stuck in a pipe, ill applaud it all you want :spotted owl: .

more like Offensive actually.

he sounded like he's got strong emotions regarding the above reviewer, probably fuelled by envy. *shrug*

Yahtzee is for people who are looking for a different look at games. For instance game informer gave serious 7.5 while MW# got an almost perfect score despite the fast that it extremely linear and almost a carbon copy of MW2; gamers care about that and would rate it much lower due to this. We need more game reviewers to talk about the elephant in the room : dumbed down, chopped up for DLC, easymode corridor, quciktime setpiece games

Ah, but see, comments like that do absolute nothing but fuel a bad situation and divert a thread from its original purpose, like so. (because then that's what people will start focusing on)

No one wants to hear it because half of the fanbase is now playing on consoles. Sigh. Its [censored] pointless to even say anything. Oh well.

The moment he said "You weave expsition into the storytelling, not hand the audience a [censored] glossary as they walk into the theatre!"

He's talking about Final Fantasy 13 and every point he makes is spot on. If you know anything about when FF13 was released you understand that comment.

From then on every review he makes I take seriously at the points he's making. I just decide whether those points are make or break for me.

To be honest, I've seen funnier zero punctuations. This one was kind of ... boring. *shocked*

Also, people should re-evaluate they're conception of that stuff being actual reviews. It's comedy, that's about it.

I've seen him make many valid points. Views which some gamers are blind to for some odd reason. Those common sense things that seem to slip from some ppl.

The appeal of Zero Punctuation, whilst the style is pure gimmick, and clear exaggeration of flaws, I have to admit, I take his quick reviews more seriously than the big review sites since I don't entirely trust their impartiality.

His points if you look past the joke making are generally spot on, and have been far more helpful in making decisions than IGN has ever been. Looking forward to catching this weeks after work.

EDIT: Generally spot on in that I find we agree on a lot of things once I've had the opportunity to try the same game. Just so happens my opinions coincide, so nobody get your knickers in a twist because your opinion differs. Thats Ok. You don't need to defend having an opinion :)

Some valid points in the review, thanks for posting Proper Gander. That bloke's reviews always remind me of Charlie Brooker or Rich Hall. Only not as funny.

I'm glad he's sick of games that funnel you through the equivalent of a storm drain. Linear isn't my thing.

I usually take games reviews for a grain of salt. there have been games I've hated who had top scores and games I loved with mediocre to bad scores....
Yahtzee has comedy value, 95% of the reviews I've seen were for games I never cared to bother with.

I usually try and get a hands on impression of a game before I buy it, if I'm not sure about it.

a good example would be Dragon Age... I enjoyed the first title a lot, and when I heard there was going to be a 2nd one I thought, awesome! Then I tried the demo and just thought.... F that!

I'm afraid to watch it because he might spoil the main quest in his way of wordy cleverness. Does he, or is it safe?

I love Yahtzeee, and Zero Punctuation, and he is generally quite right when he makes an observation, even if it gets exaggerated. That said, he doesn't influence my game buying.

I don't use him to determine game I want to get, but I watch his videos as I find his sense of humor and way of describing things hilarious. Some truth in what he says most of the time though, but sometimes something that I might disagree on. Not watched Yatzee in a while though, been too busy - going to watch this one though (and get stuck watching more lol)
