Instead of adding Snakemen, Sea Elves, Left-handers, or any of that other garbage, what about a race of roughly mer-shaped Dwemer constructs?

'Could call 'em Machine-mer or whatever the Aldmeris for metal is.

They'd have a natural armor rating, though be unable to wear traditional armors, but with added perk of being able to enchant their own limbs.

I know it's crazy; I know any mention of tech just a hair shy of medieval stasis gets you folks in rabid tizzy - But I think it would be cool.
