First impressions are very important, it's what people remember the most. The game was poorly implemented. They dropped the ball in trying to appeal to a larger audiance, they could have done it without neglecting PC.
I feel they rushed the game because of the leaked version that was released. Some people may have been too impatient and just downloaded the free version illegaly and this could have made Crytek push for a quicker release without ironing everything out. Or maybe I'm wrong and they just flat out half assed it.
The game is good in it's current state imo. When I say that I mean I love the single player campagin with the new graphics. I love the multiplayer, to me it's the most fun I can have right now, between that and bad company 2.
There are problems though that CAN'T be ignored. If they are they may very well lose what little player base they have left in multiplayer. Cheaters, glitches, crashes, disconnections, bugs, poor performance, the list could go on. The game as a whole is not optimized very well right now and it could be that Crytek wants to simply have a game that people can say "will it run Crysis 2?" but if that is true it's definately the wrong approach to have when designing a game with competitive multiplayer on the line of call of duty.. not everyone can afford machines with 3 graphics cards or even 2. Some people can't even afford one super powered one. Optimize the game better.
There NEEDS to be a new patch addressing some of these issues, all of them really. If they choose to neglect it I don't think there'll be much of a future for Crysis 3. Which will upset me greatly
