F:com Convergence Mod Question?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:39 am

So I wanted to install the F:Com mod so that I could install OOO, MMM, WarCry and Francesco's Levelled Creatures-Items. But what I did was, easy install the .esm and .esp files and create an OMOD for some other mods and installing them with Oblivion Mod Manager and I appear to have successfully installed OOO, WarCry and Francesco's Levelled Creatures-Items perfectly without the game crashes and it appears that all those 3 mods work perfectly together. My question is : So is F:Com mainly required for MMM (Martigen's Monster Mod) to be compitable with those mods? Because MMM is the only "main" total conversion mod that I didnt install with those and to a point im afraid to do it because I dont want to mess up the game and F:Com seems a bit too complicated for me to install.

My Oblivion Mods :
Oblivion Version : 1.2.0416

Alternative Start Mod (skips the prison cell, emperor's death and tutorial and allows you to start the game into a cabin with a bed, etc)
BTMOD (New Interface, smaller words, better map viewing, etc)
Deadly Reflex Latest Version
Dibellas Watch (Mod that adds a new place with new quests, etc)
Elven Map (Colorful Map)
Francesco's Levelled Creatures-Items
Kvatch Rebuilt
OOO (Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul)
Quest Message Popup Removal
WarCry
Bob's Armory
and some Vampire Tomb Mods.

hi there, installing MMM won't screw up your game in any way, if you followed the FCOM install procedure then in fact you should've installed MMM somewhere in there already before the FCOM files are installed. If you've already installed the other 3 and not MMM, then it's not that much more effort to also include MMM, so i suggest installing it. FCOM was created to integrate these mods together so theres no reason to not use it.

Thanks for the reply. The thing is I find FCOM too complicated to install, even though I tried following instructions. The mods are fairly easy to install (at least not the ones who use Wyrebash anyway) but this FCOM integration installation is making me go crazy, dont know how to do it. I'll install MMM too but I dont know what happens if I dont integrate the mods with FCOM, maybe the mods collide and not all of them are usable? or some of the features of one mod get replaced by another's mod?

Have you looked at my http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/995334-mmm-and-fcom-omod-installers (the second link in the FCOM release thread)? It makes FCOM installation quite simple.

That's exactly what happens. FCOM was created to integrate the best features and benefits of each overhaul so they work together smoothly; without it you will be missing some of the features of each mod that led you to install it in the first place. So the overhauls then overwrite each other with regard to weapon/enemy strength, scarcity, creature spawns, etc.--you won't ever see half the stuff the overhauls actually contain.

Nice One's OMOD installer helps you weed out the similar plugins, so I'd recommend checking it out!

The number of plugins that FCOM offers can be daunting at first, but that is only because it has to support multiple configurations--some people don't want Frans, for instance (and the list goes on). There are variants also so that users can tweak spawn rates to their specific desires. So while it might seem overwhelming when you look at all of them, if you really look (and read the descriptions), you'll find yourself actually using relatively few.
