Build me a Char?

Post » Mon Oct 19, 2009 2:32 pm

I want to make a cleric character, one who uses one handed maces, heavy armor, speechcraft, blocking, and restoration.
I'm not sure what race to choose, and I think I should have Strength and Willpower as my main attributes.

Also, if anyone can suggest a place to get a mace better than a steel mace. One Handed ofcourse, I would appreciate it.

So, TES Lords, can you suggest a build?

Choose the race you think looks the best and has the best lore. Then just pick the skills you're going to be using.

There's truly no need to worry about classes in this game. Any character can succeed.

Hehe i was just about to write the same thing. Have the skills and chartype. The skills are good and youll not lose with them. Go and play. ( the underlying problem here is that the deeper one digs into powergamish stuff, the awkwarder the levelling system becomes. It is optimized for a regular player, and not a powergamer. ). The less you know the more fun and realistic the game is.

I would pick an Orc, seems perfect for this role (well my opinion after playing too much lineage2). He also has top strength, willpower, and endurance.

While I agree with Count Lauriel, I know how much easier the game is with certain characters, plus I love thinking up new builds (I'm the sort of player who runs insane numbers of characters) so I'll help you. Female Nords have the highest combined strength and willpower at 50 each. If you'd rather play as a male character, the male Orc is the way to go with 45 strength and 50 willpower. Nords have the heavy armour and blunt weapons skills you want and Orcs have the heavy armour and block skills you want. Neither have restoration or speechcraft as majors but that doesn't matter anyway. On the other hand, if you don't mind having slightly less strength but want an early boost in restoration you could go with a male Breton (40 strength, 50 willpower, +10 restoration).

I can't think of where any maces better than steel are early on but sometimes enchanters have enchanted steel maces that do more damage and can hit physical immunes like ancestor ghosts. If you're starting with a lot of strength early on a steel mace should be enough for a good chunk of the game.

It may not follow your build idea but I suggest you look at this: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/913818-the-elder-scrolls-iii-morrowind/faqs/22532

I would get a Breton, take conjuration as a minor/major and get a bound mace spell. It's cheap to cast and weights nothing. Available at the Balmora guild of mages I believe, try the teleport woman.
The 50% magicka resistance and 50pt shield power will make up for the lack of health in the early stages.
Also +10 starting points to restoration.

Kill an Ordinator. That's your ebony mace. Plus over 30k of gold.
