I love the look of the Adept Robes, but I'm really looking forward to putting this Enchanting Skill to work by creating some cool stuff to wear myself. What's a good wizardly outfit you can enchant yourself? I'm currently leaning toward the Hammerfell Outfit (it has a cape!) with Alik'r ood or simply a cowl or circlet. Any tips?
(Please feel free to chime in with especially stylish armor, too, though personally I'm sticking with clothing to make me not regret putting two perks into Mage Armor.)
Follow-up question: Are there any unenchanted robes in the style of the Novice/Apprentice/Adept Robes that you can enchant yourself? I did find College Robes somewhere (which are in the style of the Expert Robes), but not the other kinds.
Wish you could get the enchant from Archmage Robes, they are pretty cool looking but I'm not a fan of how the hood looks. I actually like the apprentice robes better, or even the novice robes.
I didn't know the store in solitude has just about everything though, I'll have to check that out.
How are robes, in terms of survival effectiveness? I tend to hate mage armor type spells because they eat mana and dont last long. And yet robes offer no protection from an armor perspective. Should I try to make my mage use them?
Are there any light armor items in the game that look like robes but that function as armor?
My mage wears legendary glass armor with daedric helm, gauntlets, and boots. It looks awesome, and has a lot of armor. Are there any advantages to using robes or light armor if I have the Steed stone and wear something else for sneaking? The only disadvantages of heavy armor that I know of are the slower movement and louder noise.
You can find Hooded Worshiper Robes at a Shrine of Talos just off the road from the Helgen Cave. While you're following that guy, and get on the main road, just head left, and find a dirt path with wooden logs for stairs, and it's up there.
Along with a dead Thalmor agent, and four dead worshipers.
