Although I am now going against my own best instincts, and about to engage in some "bad form" too, here is a post I made in (evidently!) a rather different frame of mind. If it is at all useful to you, then I am glad. I suppose, if nothing else, it might help you be aware of mods you do not want!

Other than that, and in fact, one of the other posts in the same thread, there is also "Oblivion the Beautiful" here: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1213147-oblivion-the-beautiful/
And there is the Oblivion Quest List: http://knol.google.com/k/toql-the-oblivion-quest-list (though this one is rather out of date, so beware).
For immersion, there was a recent thread, that for some reason I did not reply to (!) - it is here: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1218287-must-have-immersion-mods/
This site is just all around excellent, for Oblivion mod users: http://tescosi.com/wiki/Main_Page
Of course, TES Nexus ( http://www.tesnexus.com/ ) has a lot of mods available, and is very much searchable, like so: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/advancedsearch.php - you can also browse categories and sort the results to suit, here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/categories.php
Best of luck filtering away the garbage, and those mods that simply might not appeal (and/or work properly with your other mods). You will need it!
edit: Of course, now I have posted that, you have already posted specific questions. Ha! You would be better off posting those in the Mod Detectives thread, incidentally. But either way, I will see what I can come up with...
