Sneak and Escorting

Any one else notice that when you rescue someone or are escorting someone through a dungeon or cave, that unless they are a companion of some kind, they won't sneak? I mean I spend a lot of time sneaking around--which is weird because I'm a warrior, using two handed weapons--and when I'm rescuing someone, I'll sneak, look back, and there they are standing up without a weapon like we aren't in danger. Then, if I near a room with enemies, the refuse to sneak idiot starts saying things like, "did I just hear something? What was that?" Sure, just give me away. No, it's okay, we don't need the element of surprise. Just draw them to us, and then get mad at me when you're dead. :P

The only quest I did where the person I was with would sneak (other than Lydia) was for the dream problem in Dawnstar. The priest of Arkay would actually sneak.

Just an odd observation. I found it amusing really. Annoying, but more funny than anything.
