G4's VGA's are a joke anyway. I could care less who wins.

Alright, first of all... I love Skyrim, and Zelda.

But the only thing I'm seeing here is a bunch of 9 years old kids fighting for a game...
Wonder if they came from a Zelda forum...

Now stop setting the place on fire here... This is Skyrim forums

God, this is getting annoying already...

Everyone here respects Zelda... It's great, we know that...
But can't you also respect TES?

Oh right, [censored] that! I'm going to sleep now...

well said, Skyward is an amazing game and even more impressive for being only on 1 platform. But then sadly, we all know GOTY is about the number of fans :P

With that logic, MW3 should be GotY.

Continuing to give Bethesda games GOTY is continuing to support shoddy game development and telling developers "Yes, I'll pay you full price to play your beta game!".

If they forgot the pin my hands would be safe, it would have blown their hands off (unless it has a really long timer).

Should we bother to tell him they were holding the handle in until they handed it to him and ran?

That it is an internet poll and regardless of which game wins the results are hardly going to be scientific since the voting process is probably shoddy as hell.

You're welcome to start up a poll offline, and even throw is as many restrictions as you'd like. No really, go ahead.

Shoddy or not, it's the subject of this thread and the only poll available to us (as far as I'm aware). To demean the poll is to demean this thread (not that you'd need to, but that's irrelevant :D), and if you're going to do that, why even bother replying in the first place?

Agreed. All games have bugs on release, sure, but Bethesda has been making the same type of game for years now and still puts out releases that aren't even close to being stable. What's worse is that they don't bother fixing all the bugs because they know the community will do it for them with the Construction Set/Creation Kit.

Skyrim has some of the same bugs that we've seen in Oblivion, and instead of fixing them, they stripped content and threw in a bunch of features that were certain to result in even more bugs appearing. Why fix psychic guards when you can add children, right? Or even bother with updating companion AI when marriage is obviously far more important..

Forgive my dissent, but (quite frankly) I love nothing more than a game that develops as I do. Part of the beauty of Skyrim, for me, is the fact that I can get a leg-up early on by clever digging and exploits and then later on, when the game is nearly fully corrected, playing all the mods and packs that have been created since I began. I have always loves LoZ games but, quite honestly, they're pretty amorphous in structure & story and fail to grow and tailor themselves to my caprice as time goes by.

For me, a good game should be treated as a fine wine in that the game should be expected to become richer and more flavorful with more time passed. The LoZ series is more of the opposite in game terms. Sorry to ramble on, these are just my thoughts.

Personally I blame the English language for not redefining words fast enough to keep up with my use of them.

I used to play games by Bethesda like you, then they gave me a grenade with no pin.

My humble thoughts on the matter are that both are great games. As for the poll.... I'd have to say if Zelda were multi-platform it would whip skyrims fire-breathing butt. They are soo close yet zelda is only for the wii where as skyrim has several platforms that people play on.

Here are the cons that I have found with both the games.

Skyrim:
Too many bugs on release. I would have rathered them release it next year then have a game with so many bugs that I actually had to restart twice just to finish it.

Main Story-line Waaay too short. I remember oblivion's story line was much longer at least I think.

Companions svck... Yeah I know mods will probably eventually resolve this but currently I'd rather not have a companion with the way they behave.

Should have released the creation kit with the game....... The mod community could have easily fixed at least half the bugs if not more in the game by now if they had released it with the game. When I read it wasn't coming out til january I almost kicked my computer. I hope they are not pushing it back because of the steam workshop thing. I HATE that steam is taking all of the popular games and intagrating it into their system. I would never use a steam server to download mods. Skyrim nexus will be fine for me.

A lot of minor issues that will be fixed with creation kit I'm sure.

Skyward Sword
I only have 2 complaints about this game......

Felt too short. Sure I know you can play a lot longer if you collect everything and do all the side quests but I'm one of those story driven people. At least skyrim has stories to go along with their side-quests.

The ONLY reason I bought a wii was to play rune factory and zelda. I HATE using the motion controllers. I prefered the old ocarnia of time controls. Mabye aim the bow, slingshot, beetle with wi motion but the sword?.......... come on. The last battle of the game my arm ended up getting tired and I paused the game for about 30 mins. If I wanted that much emersion I'd go out to my backyard with my sword collection and practice on a tree or something.

Sadly my vote would probably go to Zelda. I'm a big fan of Bethesda Softworks Games like TES and Fallout I just think they could have released it a little later with less bugs and would have made a bigger impact on the community if they had released the creation kit day 1 like they said they wanted to. I for one will not be playing it again til I can start modding. Zelda however I'm currently going through Hero Mode and aiming for 100% completion.

I think we have two of these threads. Skyward Sword actually looks pretty cool, tbh. It's not the same kind of game as Skyrim
