Best / most evolved magic overhaul mod?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 8:23 am

Hey all,

I am restarting OB after more than a year, and I am trying to find out which magic overhaul mod has been developed into the most bug-free / complete / evolved option for improving my magic experience.

Would it be:

(a) Less annoying magic experience (LAME) ?
(B) Supreme Magicka?
© Midas Magic?
(d) a new one that I have not found yet? (please nominate)

Please let me know your opinions and/or votes...

Thanks a bunch,
Starnaal the Fallen

Option Z: just about every single one. Magic mods get along surprisingly well with each other. As for recommendations, I've got a whole bunch:

Granted it is a bit dated but what is on it and in the tread is good info.

I'll agree. No reason not to use both Supreme Magicka and LAME. They play very nicely together at overhauling the vanilla spell system. There's a little overlap, but just decide which one you want to override the other and load it after. Personally I load Supreme Magicka afterwards just because it's got an easy to customize ini file.

Midas has its own scripted spell system that doesn't conflict with much of anything. A lot of people love the effects and a lot of other people say the spells are too overpowered. Meh.

I'd recommend throwing in Audacious Magery and Fizzle! Some others on this forum recommended those, and I've been using the two of them with SM & LAME. Makes for a very nice and interesting game.

Oh, there's also Druid Mod Remade: if you want to play totally outside the mage's guild, it has its own set of conjuration nature summons, shapeshifting, scripted effects, etc.

I have a new favourite (Conjuration changes are simply badass) but it's not JUST a magic overhaul and unfortunately not modular: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1120709-relz-rom-revised-oblivion-mod/
