rofl no, this would be a terrible idea. It would easily ramp up the loading times. The cinematic idea that theyre using right now is perfect. Its a small 30 second clip (literally like 2 seconds to load that) and while THATS playing, its loading in the background. Once the map is done loading, it should offer you to keep watching or skip it. People wine and complain about this usually because they dont understand that the game is still loading while your watching this cinematic, and when its done loading you can move on. People dont get the concept that your not going to be doing anything during this time anyways. I dont blame most people, since most devs did the dumb thing by loading a video, sometimes FORCING you to watch it, and only THEN, after the video, load the game.
A counter argument for when people realize this, is that "oh, but watching the same clip over and over will get old" ... so what you'd rather stare at some static jpgs? okay... cuz THAT'll be entertaining right? Or you could have some lousy minigame that generally gets old faster then a blank screen and a loading bar...
I can understand having something for you to do POST loading if you dont want to watch the cut, but i'm 99% sure that while waiting on others is the time you'll be staring at your guy and customizing him and readying your load out... But anything that would put on additional wait times, in my book, is unacceptable. The only worthwhile interactive loading screen i've EVER seen was in bayonetta, because while waiting you could practice your combo's. It didnt add much at all to the loading time since everything was already there, but i dont see this as a viable option in BRINK since practicing much of anything would require an environment, which you would have to either waste valuable memory to keep it always loaded, or load it post combat, increase loading times. Also it would weigh down on the CPU, further increasing loading times.
No. The light weight cinematic will be plenty enough. It'll keep you moderately entertained while serving a purpose, all with out adding any unnecessary loading.
