PS3 or PC, and why?

With those options, I'd say PC. the PS3 controller isn't great for shooters, and the community likely won't be as broad as the PC community (the latter point is an inference, I apologize if that's not helpful). More precise controls, wider variety of servers...Really it depends on how good your PC is, and, most importantly, what you prefer.

If you prefer console shooters (or were a die hard console shooter fan), I assume you would (like most console shooter fans) have an Xbox 360. Since that's not an option, I'm assuming that the console shooter doesn't comprise the focus of your gameplay time, so I'd recommend the PC, because based on what you've said I'm assuming that PC gaming is more up your alley.

Whatever works best for you. Personally, I'm debating between 360 and PC, but leaning toward PC simply because I think the PC community will be larger...we'll see after release. But yeah, between PC and PS3 I'd choose PC hands down.

PC is a pretty obvious choice for me.

* Runs better - I can definetly get atleast 60 frames out of it.
* Better graphics, specially the high resolutions
* Dedicated servers
* Mouse and keyboard

I'd definitely get Brink on PC, mainly because I started out playing FPS games on here. I'm sure if I started FPS games on PS3, I'd be more accustomed to the console. I was a pretty good ET player on the PC so I'll be sticking!

PC

1: Controls, I'm not under 21 and I didnt grow up on consoles. I am a child of Doom on thicknet and modem networks. The only way to play multiplayer for years was mouse and keyboards and no matter how many hours I log with an xbox controller mouse and keyboard seem to always be easier. I have passed up games entirely cause they didn't release on PC, and in the case of the console shooters I have played I haven't invested the time that I would have had they been on PC in the first place. All because of the controllers. Aiming with a console controller just plain svckS in comparison.

2: Hardware. The hardware in a console never changes, whereas PC's are modular and I can upgrade when new technology comes out.

honorable mention: my hope is when Brink comes out the "games for windows" peeps will be able to play with the "xbox live" peeps.

Two words. BLU RAY.

You're also going to get a great centerpiece to your home theater system. It plays TV (Hulu), Movies (Netflix), Blu-ray's, 3D gaming, 3D movies, motion controller and (best benefit) you don't need to worry about the meatloaf stained losers crawling around in their momma's basemant hacking and glitching to the point it's just not fun for anyone.

These sorts of threads where one platform/console is pitted aganist another rarely end well and go downhill quickly. This one is already there and will thus be closed.

Please note the bolded part from our http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/:
7. Flaming is not allowed.

Insulting individuals or groups of members and name calling are flames. Any remark that is made to insult another member or group of members will be considered a flame and thus you may receive a warning for it.
Calling people a troll or an apologist for instance can both be considered a flame as can calling someone stupid or ADD. Attacking Xbox players, PS3 players or PC players is not allowed and calling them "console kiddies" or in anyway indicating someone is in some way a lesser person because of their choice is considered a flame here.

We do follow rules strictly here and appropriate warnings will be issued.
