I would like a game(play) changing patch

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 5:55 pm

1: balance destruction. I dont realy know about the other schools of magic (i dont realy use alteration or illusion too much, restoration seems mostly fine and conjuration is too linear but mostly fine)
as it stands now destruction is the weakest of the damage dealing classes

2: add spell making. Maybe give it it's own alter . this can easily be balanced because I dont think skyrim has a fortify magic spell effect. im not even sure if it has fortify effects!! To make things easier it could probably share enchant alters

3: let us use the enchanting services of other mages! Why wasnt this included? I can't even get 8% of a destruction bonus on a ring with a grand soul gem! Why cant i get that guy at the college to do it for me? Or at least make enchantments stronger with my SKILL LEVEL?!?

4: the smithing skill is entirely "redundant". Only it's perks are useful. Why cant i make ebony at 100 smithing? It's utterly stupid!! Refund everyone's smithing perks and make them unlock as they go through the levels for [censored]'s sake.

Honestly- alchemy is the only crafting skill that doesnt need a [censored]load of perks to be usefull.

5: conjuration could do with some tweaking. You only ever use two spells - your best mellee summon and your best ranged summon. You dont realy need your lesser ones

6: skills overall need to be more powerfull and perks such as "this is 20% more powerfull or is 50% cheaper to use" need to be nerfed a bit.

7: menu tweaks. id quite like magic and items to be open at the same time with both having a grid to find spells and spell effects on. skyrim's menu is absolutely awefull.
-it's annoying to trade items
- it's annoying to open items when you realy wanted to browse your magic
- it's annoying to find items and magic
- even the favourites menu can be annoying once enough stuff is on there(an issue for mages who need fast access to a lot of spells)

8: Obvious one- improve the ai. They seem to have infinite stamina pools and magika pools. Their range of spells is limited and they dont seem to care about slow ice storms coming their way (the amount of times i killed a stupid follower with ice storm ) they dont seem to realise that hiding around a corner is a superior tactic to running at a distant and ranged foe. Teach them how to jump too! Plus shouldnt the floating enemies (such as the icewraith) be able to fly?

9: quest items should be drop able when i have done the quest.

Visual tweeks..

dx11 patch- No, the game does not become worsened if you do not have dx11. All this would do is make everything less blocky. (rounded surfaces become rounder) and modders could run with it and do cool stuff such as make the stones in the ground pop out or make realistic waves, make individual grass blades, add extreme amounts of detail to models and make the game run faster. Like i said THIS HAS NO DISBENEFIT TO YOU IF YOU DONT HAVE A DX11 GPU!!! and to be honest those things arent even expensive.. you can get a decent dx11 card for 20-40 British pounds! If skyrim got this then it would just look fantastic and age better. (because like the elder scrolls.. bethesda should look to the future)

change the faces of all the children. There are in fact two children in skyrim. One male, one female. These children have mastered the magic of cloning and the only way you can tell them apart is by hair and clothing colour. Even the Vampire child looks the same!! They all have the same annoying voices too and i have this desire to kill the vampire child because of her constant boasting. You'd think at 300 years old she'd get bored of it (and would be killable)

Slow down the repetition of dialogue for characters. It's a little annoying with guards but when you have choir of ghosts saying "i dont want to do this" all the time it get's rather annoying. There are even worse (rare) offenders than the ghosts to be honest. shopkeepers and companions tend to be bad too.

As a pc user I agree with all of your arguments, but not your solution. They already sold me their garbage, and if they try to fix it now, I promise you, I will have downloaded mods that fix it, and they will be way better than the official fix.

A store all option would be handy when putting away a boatload of ingredients.

Indeed. Modders will do a much more thorough job sorting this mess out than Beth.

I would LOVE a balancing fix.

But I don't expect one.

Most of those, put together, add up to "remake the game from the ground up" (2, 3, 4, 6, 8, all the stuff from DX11 down; probably 5 and 7 - they might improve the performance of the menus, doubtful they'd change their basic format). That's never going to happen.

...and even the "balance" parts are unlikely, based on previous Beth games.

#9's would be a nice bugfix. (as I carry around a pile of Bard's college instruments that I've "recovered"...)

All I care about is menu navigation and mouse sensitivity. Science damn it, it's hard to aim with the mouse.

I would only like the game tweaked just a bit

Just a few balancing things to crafting and perhaps buff dragons a bit and I'll be happy

:D
