Gorgorax Magic Item Plugin generates enchantments on all existing items in Oblivion.

Wasn't Dragoonwraith working on this kind of thing for a long while? Can't recall the name of it though.

When you say adjusting to your tastes - you mean like an ini or in-game menus?

Any chance you can provide the files in a normal, non-exe manner. I was going to check this out, but will not run unknown exe files to install things.

Most people use BAIN or OBMM to install mods, and requiring an .exe instead isn't something I will use - especially not when the description doesn't say anything about what this .exe file does.

I was going to read the readme - but then saw the exe.


Combine this with the fact the guy only joined today, and it starts to look suspicious.

It seems the exe file is generated by 7zip and so it can be opened in that program just like a 7z-file. It contains one esp file and 2 txt files. I haven't tried the mod in the game yet though.

Readme
installation instructions:

1. Copy Gorgorax Magic Item Plugin.esp into your ../Oblivion/Data folder.
2. Activate the plugin file on your OblivionLuncher/gamefiles.
3. The position in the load order doesn't matter.
4. Install OBSE v0020+ http://obse.silverlock.org/
5. Have Fun!!!!

Update instructions:

1. Just replace Gorgorax Magic Item Plugin.esp in your ../Oblivion/Data folder.

Terms of use:

1.Use at your own risk.

DW is/was working on http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/User%3ADragoonWraith/Mods/ARES... which also has a construction set extension?(!) That ARES page hasn't been updated in two years though @_@

Gorg may not have known about ARES.

The only thing I dislike is the "cap" on enchantments based on amount of time the current save game has been played... I'm not even sure why time was used... perhaps level would be more appropriate with scaling distribution percentages (similiar to http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37904). Also, the in-game menu makes my eyes bleed T_T I would love to see an INI.

But it's seems clean, and I like how I'm no longer trashing equipment.

Yes, the .exe is just a self-extractor, probably packed that way to make sure everyone could unpack it, i.e. good intentions. But you should definitely pack it as a regular .7z or .rar instead, Gorgorax.

The readme is quite sparse, and there's no ini file, but there are extensive menus for setting it up. I prefer .ini files of course, but I must say I respect the work done. I haven't tested it ingame though.

Dragonwrath Mod called ARES, but it seem to be that he stoped development it.

At the moment there are only in game options in my Mod, but it′s still in development, so it could be that i add additional ini menus.

As DyingOne and Cerest it already said, the exe file is a 7z. selfextracting archive. It contains two txt files and the esp file. There is no danger.

I know about ARES, but at that time, i discovered that Dragonwrath work on an similar Plugin, i was finished with my Plugin by 50%. So i finish my work.

The "time cap" is in real the factor that increase the chance to get better items relative to the playing time in hours. But is only one faktor, the other faktor is the player level. I used the time aswell, to make the creation of better enchanments more smoothly.

The optically Spell effects are from the Plugins: Visually Enchanted Shock 2.esp, Visually Enchanted Drains 1.esp, Visually Enchanted Fire 1.esp, Visually Enchanted Frost 3.esp and Visually Enchanted SoulTrap 1.esp. This Plugins should be somethere on tesnexus.com.

The enchantments in the screenshots are very strong ones with 7 spells at each weapon.

It was my intention that everybody can unpack this file, but if it looks so suspicious, i will change that with the next update.

THX! It was a lot of work, but I'm not finished yet. My Plugin is still a BETA version and it would help me if people post Bugs, Ideas and suggestion for the Balancing in the http://gorgorax.de/.

A new Version of Gorgorax Magic Item Plugin is available http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39692.

Changes:

compatibility with companions:
-no game crash by getting access to inventory from companion
-no item re-enchantment at companion
-AI adapted on companions
-add the "companion registration menu"
-add informational message
