What's the class that you see most of in this game?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:40 am

Feel like youre always been killed by 1 type of setup, what is it, Modules then perks.

For me it's a combination of armor enhance and cloak tracker with point fire enhance or aim enhance.

The module combination that I dislike the most is
-Feline
-Energy Transfer
-Stealth Enhance
-Aim Enhance

As an added note I also dislike anything to do with the current FY71, not until it gets nerfed will I stop complaining. Its like a fully automatic Grendel, but without the skill needed for aiming.

I hate the Grendel. End when I say hate, I mean realy hate it. Grendel in single shot mode with reflex or scope ... pac pac ... you are out! Man, I hate it!
About nanosuit modules? I don't like Blind spot - I don't use nanovision very often, but when I do, I can't see the Blind spot users. I see my team glowing, but the enemy is like a ghost among them.

One shot kill.

Both of those setups are quite effective. FY71 is quite powerful XD

I think the Fy17 is actually overpowered. That's why crytek makes people buy it. It might not be a huge difference but it is indeed overpowered.

The question was what do you see the most, which would be scar/reflex with EnergyTranfer/StealthEnhance/AimEnhance probably, although that seems to be changing.

Ignoring LTag and Marshallists, hate the most would be anything KVolt. All though not that common or deadly it always feels like I'm getting electro-prodded from behind, even face to face. Not good, people, not good.

Kvolt is still semi terrible, it falls into the usuable category now. The weapon itself is unusually, 1 vs 1, kvolt will be weaker, however if there is a second person 2 vs 1 or 2vs 2. The side with the kvolt will have an advantage.

The most common perks are still Energy transfer/nano recharge/stealth enhance/mobility enhance.

In terms of weapon choices.
Felines are still popular, Scars are still popular, auto fire jackel is getting more common, grendel is still quite common, FY71 fluxuates.

I think the fy71 is starting to fall into the 'if you use that gun I will use that gun' category.

Re: FY71 being overpowered. If you take into consideration everything, it is probably the best gun by 5-10%. That can make quite a difference. Its pointfire can be better than its ADS o.O, its damage and fire rate make it slightly better than feline. On the other hand, its loud and distinctive, and heavy, so it increases your energy drain when running quite a bit, seems to be as much or more than a MK60 if you put extentions on. If it counts for anything, its clip is a bit lower. However a 5-10% advantage in the hands of a good player is quite a lot.
Effective nerf would be lowering its clip to 20ish, or lowering its damage to 39.

This is one of my main setups, I nerfed my others for now.

SCAR w/ grenade launcher, red dot (acog isn't quick enough for fighting).
Majestic (no laser - better hipfire - my laser aims far left of screen???)
LGM or JAV, whatever you call it.

Nano Recharge (better for run and gun and sprinting)
Stealth enhance/covert ops/ or blind spot
SIDE PACK (+1 scar clip, 2 m203's and 2 Javelin missiles!)

Majestic hipfire, tap the fire button on scar (not hold!), and missiles are tricky =/ m203's are self explanatory.

*crash tackles Edgar*

Don't use the 'other' game's terms ;)

Hmmm I've been wanting to level up my side pack. I've heard its a bit glitchy though. I tend to like hammer and Nova better than Majestic. I can pointfire alright but can't ADS properly with it.

Also ironically

US army is gonna stop using scar by 2013, isn't Crysis set in the future? its already dated XD. Futuristic obsolete weapon ftw.

You do know the Scar in Crysis looks nothing like FN's Scar... in fact some say it's based off the XM8

Also, the Crysis Scar stands for Superior Combat Assault Rifle, while the "S" in the real-world SCAR stands for SOF

Actually, it has nothing to do with a XM8, your just seeing a similarity with the upper support, the Crysis scar, actually resembles the real life scar alot more than you think, the Crysis 2 scar is just a even further modified Crysis 1 scar, the Crysis 1 scar is essentially a updated version of our current scar, just with an added support for stilo. Take a look for yourself.

Edit: Hmm.... that was the first image to come up as Crysis scar, oh well, i inserted the real Crysis 1 scar, to prove there is a comparable transition.

lol that's not a Crysis 1 Scar, but it's even closer to an XM8. I agree with M4dn3ss.

Edit: Why'd you leave that weird "Scar-L" in your pics lol

Idk, I see a little more XM8 than anything, you can't say remove the upper support, because that's discounting a defining feature and without it it looks just as similar anyway. There's the trigger area too where XM8 and Scar 1 look closest. And the lines of the body, curves etc. But I'm happy with the Scar not looking or being exactly like any other weapon. One of the few changes I did love with the Crysis 2 transition was the revamped Scar look.

Whoops for going right off topic lol, I don't really take much note of class/modules people use, more just how they play.

Ahem, i can see you don't understand what it means to be a weapon variant. You've made the most obvious mistake in judging weapons, you cant base weapons on attachments like stocks, or weapon sights, or barrel length......or did you ever notice that the scarab is actually a Scar-AB, meaning its a downsized Scar. Pay crucila attention to grips, clip entry and the placement of shell disposal, how the bullets are delt with is what defines the weapon, not by the way it looks.
Have a nice day ;)

No upper support, but it remains a scar nevertheless.

The XM8 contract has already been cancelled... either way my off topic point that the weapons are already becoming dated is still valid XD. The XM8 was also entered as a candidate for the scar program XD

I can see both of your points, hmmm Crytek probably tried to make an original gun inspired by the two.

@coolguycooldude - lol you got me, I'm no weapons expert, but when did I base judgement on attachments, weapon sights or barrel lengths? I didn't lol. Where is all the non-correlation with the Crysis Scar and XM8 in terms of everything in your crucial list? For instance the grips are much more XM8 like.
Plus seeing as it's a fictional game weapon, looks aren't the smallest part of a weapon's identity either, but it's not meant to be, operate like or exactly resemble any real life gun because it's Crytek's artistic liberty taken on a different generation of "S.C.A.R." for 2020 :P

And yea, as BusinessEvolution said, the XM8 was part of the US military's SCAR program to develop a next-gen assault rifle, the XM8 being one of GERMAN origin. I don't think any of the candidates managed to meet all the requirements especially well. No doubt the Crysis SCAR would have if it were real :P

The XM8 was a sick weapon, saw a video with a demonstration shooting it one handed like a p90.

As for perks
I like Armour enhance, Detonation delay, Nano recharge 3 and energy transfer
I like Blindspot, visor enhance, covert ops, and stealth enhance 3
I like retreiver (when it doesn't reset), rapidfire or better aim enhance, and maybe mobility enhance.
