The Daedric quests are soo...

I agree here,I only played oblivion and I love how not all daedric quests are the same boring ''go to X altar to get quest''. as for them being dark that's nice too. I mean, they are daedras, most of them being evil which makes most of their quests dark. Heck, I'd actually be pissed if their quests were stuff like ''go kill this dragon'' or ''go kill X bandit''. Love their unpredictable side.

Well, I'm glad the Daedric quests are awesome... I've only done the Clavicus Vile or w/e quest.. And the only reason I specifically did THAT quest was to get Barbus to quit *censored* barking.

Other than that, I've done the entire Companion quest line.. Which felt very "hollow" after completing it... It felt very rushed, with not enough build-up in the beginning and a anti-climactic end...

Thieves guild on the other hand? Absolutely awesome by comparison.

EDIT: 40 hours (restarted twice) of gameplay and only two factions "finished" with minimal progress on the main storyline.. *sigh*

I will say, I am disappointed you can't directly challenge, defy or attack Daedra. For instance, Boethia's quest starts when you talk to a cultist. Instead, I kill all the cultists and Boethia appears and talks to me, "great I think, an alternative quest arc!" - Wrong. its just the exact same quest given to me by a more important NPC.

I would like more ways to deal with Daedra, specifically violent resolution. Why should my Dovah have to tolerate these scrub daedra's bad attitudes?

I appreciated being able to tell Mehrunes to screw off. I did NOT appreciate not being able to tell Boethiah the same thing. Now the quest is in my log forever.
Same goes for the Whispering Door. WHY can I not tell the Jarl that his son is being twisted and encouraged to CUT THE JARL'S FACE OFF IN HIS SLEEP? Why? Inconsistent quest writers...

I did defy Hircine and Mehrunes Dagon.

Hircine laughed it off and gave me the equivalent of a high five. Dagon sent out Dremora to kill me. I also took care of Numeria's little fan club and let the Skull be banished back to Oblivion.

This is what I did too. I wish they were all done like Azura's Star quest. I totally went Black Star because, like the man says, Azura cost way too many innocent people their lives just to get revenge on that wizard.

Yeah so far I have to say that the Daedric quests are my favorite part other than just exploring. I have completed all questlines except for the stormcloak side of the civil war and have to say that my favorite ones are the Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild in that order. My favorite Deadric quest was probably Sanguine, because I was totally confused for almost the entire quest and it was also my first daedric quest.

Sanguine and Sheogorath really don't seem like horrible guys. Not on the level of Boethiah, Mephala or Mehrunes for sure. It's so wierd that Boethiah is listed as a "good" daedra on the wiki. Meridia is good. Boethia? Noooooooot at all.

I like Meridia too. Honestly I don't know why she would be considered evil at all. All we know is that she's a goddess of light and hates undead. Other than that she doesn't seem to have a sinister agenda or dark side. So, why is she evil again?

I can't quite remember to what extent her involvement was, but she was at least partly behind the events of Knights of the Nine. Umaril was a follower of Meridia and the Aurorans are Daedra from her sphere.

I think Daedric quests make guards comment on the artifact like "How did you get ____ blah blah blah"

Awh I had a big smirk on my face after getting mehrunes razor and the guard said "wow who'd you have to kill for that blade".

The reason Boethiah is considered "good" is because he/she/it helped the prophet Veloth and the Chimer on their journey from the Summurset Isles. The Chimer were Daedra worshipers that left the Isles because the Altmer didn't let them worship Daedra. Boethiah stopped the Altmeri hero Trinimac from stopping Veloth. Boethiah ate him and the remains became the Daedra Malacath. The followers of Trinimac became the Orcs. (It's confusing, I know) The Chimer worshiped the Good Daedra: Azura, Boethiah, and Mephala, who taught the Chimer skills to go against the Altmer. But actually, no Daedra is good or bad, it's all your perspective.

I love the fact that the daedric quests almost trick you into doing "bad" things sometimes.

I've played through Azura's quest twice now, and I like how you are told by the former mage from Winterhold college not to bring Azura's star back to her shrine and disciple because "you can't trusts daedra prince's" and they will drive you mad. So my second character, with the mindset of "I do not want to serve a daedric prince" returned the star to the mage, and this gets you a reusable black soul gem.

The first time I did Molag-Bal's quest, I flat out told him I would not do his bidding, and continued on with the intention of freeing the Boethiahian priest. But the priest was really no better and my first character didn't feel too bad about being corrupted and obtaining the mace.

I agree, they're integrated into the world much better than the Oblivion ones, which were all 'touch shrine to start quest'.

I often saw 'em coming though. For Sheogorath, Vaermina, Hircine and Clavicus Vile I knew that they were involved in quests before they were actually mentioned by name in those quests. :P

But that's just from knowing the daedric princes very well from previous games.

I guess all guards are equipped with X-ray vision to scan the backpacks of strangers... Gives 'psychic guards' a whole new meaning.

Hircine's quest was obvious. :D The fact that I have "the blood" just made it even more obvious.

As far as the guards are concerned, they do have X-ray vision.

"Is that... fur? Coming out of your ears?"
*passes by another guard*
"I find your wolfish grin... unsettling."

Trust me, you can not see my ears through that helmet.

Vaermina, Sanguine, and I've started Molag Bal.

Edit: Just realized I've started Clavicus Vile.
