This happened twice; the first was when i chanced upon a wolf and a bear standing side by side. Thinking they were going to attack each other i approached them. And both of them turned around at the same time and started running towards me :spotted owl:

The second time was with a frostbite spider and a wolf, i saw a wolf running towards a spider and thought the wolf was attacking the spider. And apparently the wolf and the spider were hunting down this poor courier guy who prompty died.

I must say its quite weird for animals to ally themselves against humans. Any encounters such as these?

Came across this myself in the wilds of the Pine Forest. There was a bear up on the road sleeping, so I went around it but heard some wolves nearby. So I let the wolves see me and dashed back toward the road and hid from the wolves, thinking just as you did, the wolves would attack the bear.

Nope. Now I had three wild animals on the road instead of the one.

I saw a pack of wolves attack a frostbite spider. Depends on who they see first or if you attack, I guess.
