Just...why?

I'd like to complain about this complainer complaining about complainers complaining.

By what means do I go about doing that?

i swear if someone took on the project, you would find more threads complaining about complaining than any actual complaining....

you people really, really, REALLY, REALLY dont get it. it just flies right the [censored] over your head. i LOVE this game. i will also ceaselessly complain about every niggling flaw about the game. i will nitpick it to high hrothgar and back. why? because i want it to be better. because it CAN be better. because what separates a good game from a great game is every little detail you barely notice while playing it.

the series IS being dumbed down, but thats entirely natural when something gets more popular, and not altogether bad. niche products like morrowind will always be better because they catered to a much more specific taste; a taste i have, that the general populace does not. but i dont care. i cant expect morrowind 2.0, that was the peak and it will be for awhile. but skyirm could learn from it; it could find clever ways to incorporate the more hardcoe aspects in a more accessible way, it could have a better magic system, it could have better flower textures or a slightly more rusted sound effect when hitting dwemer bots... im not asking for anything in particular, anything important, gamechanging, or even asking for anything at all. all im doing is expressing what i believe to be an imperfection; something to consider, that could be better... something to discuss, on this DISCUSSION forum. what should we talk about? how wonderful everything is? how long would that last? what could you possibly say?

we are filling pages upon pages with anolytical discussion and conceptual improvements. you are filling pages upon pages with "dont use it" and "shut up whiner". so who is making more effective use of this forum? :spotted owl:

Right, I get this. So if they had two different development teams working on this and Fallout 3 after Oblivion, that's what...5 years of development time? They had a good grapple of the 360's capabilities in terms of graphics, something they didn't have for Oblivion since it was their first crack at the 360. If they had 5 years to make the game, they would logically be able to make all of these imperfections youve noticed better. But they didn't. To many, they went for flash over substance and hence in your guys' mind, they've totally took a crap on the magic system (something ill agree with: i saw another topic where it said Skyrim had only 92 spells and Oblivion had 2,309 without taking custom spells into account. bunch of balls, really.). But the entire magic system itself, in the upcoming January patch, will not be overhauled. Whats in, is in (unless modders do a complete 360 degrees)

I care about the series enough to complain and preserve a bit of a hope that someone listens. If not then at least I get to vent my rage. There are few enough rpgs as it is and when those few are becoming more and more dumbed down I need to express my concern somehow.

Im not gonna buy TES VI though unless theres some change in developing philosophy.

What makes me tired of this forum is threads like this, complaining about complainers. Is there really nothing else you people can do here besides complaining? God.

So you're...

Whining about whiners whining about people whining?

I agree with you. It annoys me quite a bit that people do nothing but complain. Personally, I still find Morrowind to be the best Elder Scrolls, but Skyrim is a -huge- improvement over Oblivion. Skyrim almost ties with Morrowind in my opinion.... And coming from me that's alot. I'm one of those die hard Morrowind fans.

Every time they make a new Elder Scrolls, they improve in some areas greatly, while at the same time, take a step backwards in other areas. I don't understand why they don't just leave what works, and fix what's broken. It seems that every time, they just throw out ideas without thinking them through very much, and this is what happens.

So you say that just because we don't like it when they make faults that can't be fixed we should NOT buy their games because that's what ''they do''?
It is their JOB to make sure that the game is are balanced and ready for EVERYONE to enjoy when the game releases to public.. They can't just go ''oh well, this didn't work out too well! We should probably fix it but who cares? The community knows that we are always doing this anyway and the mods will fix the rest...
and meh.. Let's take a [censored] on the consoles! Who cares about them?''
No.. We want un-broken games that are fixed BEFORE release and when it is ready it can be released so everyone can enjoy it!
The game doesn't fix itself just because the PC part of the community is able to mod out the problems..
They made it for consoles and therefore it should be equal for everyone(wich it is, just that it is bad)...

Edit: And bethesda knows that people will simply not ''stop buying'' their games... Sure we all know that if people stop buying something, the creators will probably change it to the better.
But bethesdas games are simply too popular to just be ''ignored''.. people won't just stop buying them, and bethesda knows that..
So that's is why they should get their [censored] together and fix it..
