Lost Apophis book

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 12:21 pm

I have very unfortunately lost my copy of the Apophis book somwhere in-game and have had no luck finding it anywhere. I'm sure everyone knows well enough how vast the world of Oblivion is and how much time can be spent within the game itself and trying to remember precisely where one has "Dropped" something makes the allegory "Trying to find a needle in a haystack" seem like a childishly easy task to perform. I would very much like to use the Silver Dragon Armor set, but of course I need the book to gain access when my character reaches level 20. not quite sure what i can do at this point. I am wondering if some kind of uninstall/reinstall may fix the problem, but have not tried yet. Any help or suggestions from anyperons in fixing this nimrod's predicament would be much appreciated.Thank you very much in advance. Oblivion Forver!!! ... at least untill Skyrim comes out. YEAH!!!!!!!

Since this is mod-added, you're on a PC and can use the console to give yourself another, or to move the player to where you left it. You just need to know the formid. Is that in the readme?

Also you might want to check if the original vendor has another copy. A lot depends on how it was added. If placed in a respawning merchant container, there would be another copy there after three days from you buying the first.

Every item in the game has a number made up of the mod's load order + a value of its own within the mod. You can use it with console commands to reference that individual item. Names are only held for quests, cells and a couple of other things, so you need that number.

It can be difficult to find the formid number without either opening the Construction Set, which you likely haven't downloaded, or having the item in view to click on with the console open. You'll probably have to try the plan B, which is to see if you can buy a second copy.
