Magic is overpowered

Actually, the ones saying they're overpowered are the ones that have read the thread. You should try it sometime.

Well, saying certain magic is overpowered (disagree). That is NPC magic - so the title is somewhat misleading.

But then I am used to games either having enemies weaker than the PC (shooters for example) or stronger (ability wise - often in RPGs) so I can live with it.

If there is undead army on your heels then one mage makes no diference ;) If you really mean "army". And you did something wrong to get in to such situation in the first place.

This is very common situation: Two or three mages, everyone of them have undead or daedric creature summoned and a few draughs will run from somewhere else when first spells are cast. Those undeads and other creatures are not bad: they can't hurt you badly and you need only one or two strikes to kill them. If you kill them first mages have time to hit you with a few spells and you're dead. To survive from this kind of battle you need to run first to each of mage and slay them down and then to kill those lesser beings. What makes it hard is you are forced to avoid almost every spell they cast to make it succesful.
