Whats the point in Cooking?

Other than a role playing option, what is the point in cooking after level 5?

Food barely makes a difference, seeing as youll soon get so many health potions anyway, plus you already have a healing spell at the beginning of the game

Roleplay purpose I guess but there are some recipe's that do help quite a bit in battle.

Small buff.
The regen stews aren't too bad (not great, but over 12 minutes give a decent return).

Elsweyr fondue is pretty useful even for higher level mages. Could've been more expansive, though.

Yeah this has been raised a few times.

Hopefully they will work on it as it has the potential to be a great craft if they work on increased health and buffs.

lt's fairly useless without a "hardcoe" mode like Fallout: New Vegas.
It does serve as a good platform for modders to expand on though.

I use it for RP purposes, but what I'd like to do is mod the content so that food gives you a fortify x (health, stamina, magicka) for y amount of time.

That would make the in-game raw/cooked food more practical IMHO. Too bad we have to wait for the CK until January to do things like this on the PC.
