You didn't notice the architecture and layout are completely different? Where is that area in the middle row on the final version then?

The new one. You guys probably are going to choose the concept version only because its different.
I'm loving Rifton as it is now.

Yeah, I'm liking the final product. That statue in the courtyard = :meh: Oblivion burnt my ass out on statues.

the concept art depicts a bigger city somehow it s more open. Riften in game, consists mainly of a mainstreet, the little market in the middle and the palace and thats it

I like the final more. Final sets the mood for how the town is. While the concept art doesn't look liked a poor town ruled by the thieves guild. I do like how the concept art doesn't have walls. I don't mind walls so much as that a hold is a different cell... I miss towns being open to the world.

Well that's easy to explain. Todd [censored] slapped his concept artist for being too ambitious, then proceeded to release the cells to the press. Why? For the lulz, one presumes.

How can anyone draw this conclusion? Apart from the bridges and the colour of the leaves on the trees they're almost nothing alike.

That concept art shows like 5% of Riften and a random interior... how the hell could you compare the finished city with this...?

You must be really bored that you made this thread.

No, this is stuff I like to do. No different from any other thread here. This might not show the entirity of the concept city, but it shows just as much of the city as is in the final version. They look completely different in the parts we can see. If you don't see how they are different they are, I could easily create a long list presenting noticeable differences to explain it to you.

I like all the walled cities including Riften. The unwalled ones on the other hand seem pathetic. They are all made of the same wooden structures. These are supposed to be old cities, they should have some substantial [stone] structures.
