Minor Adjustments, Major appreciation

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 12:08 pm

First of all this is not a thread to gripe about glitches. Last post by Gstaff I read said something along the lines, they will be patching minor things now and major things in January. If I'm right or wrong it does not really matter. This is a thread to bethesada about minor things we want that may be easy to implement however most of us are not programmers. So bear with me. Also for reference I'm on an Xbox 360.

First thing I would love to see and why.

Show/Hide helmet
A setting option to make helmets invisible(show helmet/ hide helmet). Bethesada you worked so hard to give us awsome Customizations on character faces. Let us see those faces without loosing the armor benefit. Don't get me wrong, my dragon helm is sweet, if I had one I'd wear it to the bar. But not if I was a bad [censored]ed kajhit with an awesomely evil looking face., jet black fur, beautiful shiny silver eyes, a scar across the nose, and silverish chin.

Alchemy lab.
Please combine the alchemy lab and and satchel/box. After running the beautiful landscape for hours slaying critters, picking ingrediants, and generally enjoying the horizon I wish I could go to my house, click on the lab, and dump my ingrediants. And instead of taking only the ingrediants for say health potions, i take them all just to make one type of potion cause who can memorize all the effects of all the ingrediants And while on the subject.

Ingrediant store all button
Ohh how I dread stashing ingrediants in boxes. XXXXXXXX A XXXA XXA XXA XXXXX AA XXXXAA XA XA XA XXXXXXXXA XXXXXXX A XA XA XA XXXXA XA, crap I didn't want to eat that, i only had one :<. Five minutes later I'm icing my blisters. Ok. Maybe not but you get it.

Marriage. I want to marry another kitty cat. Lol. But seriously. Throw in a few non nords to marry. And while we are there. Some of those nords could use a makeover. Unlike most of the huminoids in skyrim I don't want to marry the first uggo with a pulse I come across. This isn't something just dudes want, the ladies want it to.

Followers abiding the law.
I don't know if this is a glitch, but if I break in somewhere I'll not tolerate my follower telling me "your not supposed to be in here", "what did you say to me" chopped. "Watch your mouth next time and you won't get chopped". Lol. But anyway,I should be able to tell them to go home or trade some equipment with me.

Followers are narks
So I'm sneaking threw a cave, I see a dude smithing some equipment and decide, I'm going to bust some ebony in this guys [censored]. First shot misses, doesnt kill, or his buddy notices something is off and the eyeball symbol shows they are looking for me. What's my follower do? Bolts off like Rambo effectively narking me out. Bye bye sneak bonus.

Sellers with more cash.
I've got the speach perks to invest 500 and all merchants have an extra 1000. But it's not enough. Dont get me wrong, I dont need the cash. Its just that I'm stingy and would hate to throw away equipment. So instead I store it. Now it takes a minute to load up my stash box and another minute to get to the bottom of it. And while we are on the subject.

Merchants refresh cash and equipment to slow.
24 hours is fine. And it seems some merchants have a 24 hour turnaround period. But most seem to be 48 hours. If I sold all the equipment and potions in my stash boxes it would probally take 30 minutes in wait time alone. 48 hour turn around for a merchant in a warring era isn't so hot. Is there a depression going on in skyrim or what? With a war going on and dragons attacking on a daily basis I would think the merchants would restock equipment faster. After all wouldn't the citizens be buying and selling equipment to protect themselves from the threat of dragons. I'd stock up if I were them.

Dragon age did it. It was cool. And dragon age doesn't hold a candle to skyrim.

I agree with basically all of these. I actually made a mod for toggling helmets for Oblivion at someone's request. The only ones I'll contest are the last ones. Even on my merchant file I never had an issue with people not having enough cash or having to wait too long to get new items in stock.

I wish I had mods on Xbox. I refuse to buy better computer equip every 6 months or so to keep up with new game requirements.
EDIT
I'm siting at warmaidens in whiterun. Trying to sell all my crap cause my chests lag. Wait 24 hours. 0 gold for her and her father. Wait another 6. Still zero. So I'm selling say 12 ebony swords every ehh 2 or 3 minutes. Don't get me wrong I didn't make the swords and I don't have that many but you get the point. Ive got a ton of crP to sell. And i only put 1 point in the first barter skill so i can drop more quickly. Maybe comp works better or something. I wish these people would show up for work on time more consistently.

If you're on the PC, you can console in some extra cash for merchants. It's what I do, not to cheat or anything, but just to save time so I don't have to run through every merchant in Skyrim just to sell my loot. Just click on them and do the additem code and give 'em some cash, and you can sell more stuff to 'em.

Shouldn't be too hard to make a mod that increases the base gold (plus the enhancments from the perks, to 3000/1500 respectively) by 3x. I'd try to make it, but I can't until the CK is released.

Weight/bulk for arrows rather than being able to carry 1000's of weightless arrows.

Lockpicking either more difficult or lockpicks being far less readily available in the world which would be the best option as then lockpick perks and being able to source them from thieves guild would mean something.

Some non armour clothing being helpful to skills/somekind of bonus maybe so then those who choose not to wear armour can get areward rather than being punished for it.

Drinking potions/food takes time to do rahter than being able to chug down 10 or 20 while in a fight. maybe tihs could be in the short term handled by recieving the effects after time has passed for example 10 or 20 seconds (this could reflect time to drink it/apply it etc..)

You have to eat or drink/sleep during the day (add some immersion and also gives food a real reason to exsist rahjust another healing potion)

BEST THING TO ADD -- options to switch options such as those suggested by posters on/off rahter than having to use game breaking master setting to have a intresting challenge this way people can please themselves and no having to please everyone.

Fix companion stats not being updated as they level. On the PC I can just enable / disable them to force-reset their stats, but I feel for the console players who cannot and are stuck at level 40 with a Lydia who still has the health she had at level 5 when they met her.

Add a menu option to fully disable the HUD compass. Once again, I can do it on the PC through the .ini file, but I am sure some console players would like having the option.

More Mage spells. Forgot to put that. Oblivion blows skyrim out of the water when it comes to a variety of spells. Not to mention custom spells.
Yeah. Your making us console players jelous. It's kinda svcky having to find a new follower every 5-10 levels for us console players. I'm also disappointed comp users will be able to change around houses chests and stuff but I won't on the 360.
