hiya peeps, just to put in a good word about the upcoming new build I am about to make including:

Intel i3 2100 3Ghz (nice lil' second gen Sandy Bridge processor there for only ￡83.99 from Scan)

MSI GTX 460 1GB (froman improvement from the crappy Sparkle GTS 250 512MB)

4GB Kingston ValueRam (hell yeah, learnt that it doesn't matter if it isn't labelled as 'compatitable' like in Crucial, if it works then its fine )

1 TB Seagate Barracuda SATA 6Gbps HDD (an improvement from my 320GB HDD- honestly, not enough for my pro- erm I mean, GAMES)


Anyways, wanna ask if peeps like you have similar spec build and are running Crysis 2 on 1680*1050 on Hi-Res and DX11 smoothly.

You're gonna see about 40-55 FPS with that set up. I get a little higher than that and I run a core i5 750/GTX 470.

Make sure your motherboard is compatible with the RAM you're picking out, and that your motherboard has a 6 gb/s eSATA slot on it so your HDD is not going to waste.

Why not go with an i5 2500k? What speed is your RAM timed at?

You won't get near 40-55 FPS on a GTX460 on ultra no, more like 25-30fps.

Kingston value is good ram, just not great for big overclocking

i5 2500k is currently the best value for money until the next AMD chip comes out and then until ivy bridge comes out....

when i get the money im going to add another 2 gb of ram and get a ASUS GTX570 DirectCUII 1280MB GDDR5 vid card

Don't get cheap RAM it can make quite a big difference actually
