Chest Ordering

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 2:54 pm

I think that there should be an upgrade that will allow you to see stuff in chests (And other storing places) the same way you do in the inventory.
With that I mean that you'll also have different tabs for each category.
I find it a real pain in the ass, when I'm looking for a type of food or something and I first have to go through incredible amounts of weapons / armors / books I collected on my journey's.

Well let me know what you think

Do what I do, put armor in one wardrobe, weapons in the end table, books on the shelf, and random assorted junk in a satchel.

Organization is your friend. :D

And isnt the chest at least sorted alphabetically? I cannot remember as I'm at work and cannot look in my chest in Breezehome.

Well it works but then when you want to quickly drop off some items at your house it'll take you some more time.
Don't know why they didn't do it like in F3 or NV

this is basicly what i do, i have a TON of diffrent containres being used in my game house. one for stuff to sell, one for enchanting stuff, one for armor, one for Dedra stuff/powerfullyweapons/wepons used alot. I have one for potions the relate to health/magicka/stamania and another for all the other potions, ALL my ingrediants are in one.

i wish they would sort the menu

It won't take you that much longer at all.

Think about it realistically. If you were to actually dump everything you had in one chest, would you be able to just sort that chest out by category? NO, it would take you forever to dig through the pile of junk in that chest until you found what you were looking for.

Ever moved into a new house? :)

Yeah, at the house in Whiterun, I keep everything for smithing (ore, ingots, leather, hides, gems, enchanted smithing-improving items) in the barrel, food in the cupboard, ingredients in the apothecary's pouch, potions in the chest in the alchemy room, books on the shelves, jewelry in the nightstand, clothes and robes and non-armor footwear in the dresser. Weapons, armor and "treasure" like dragon bones and scales, mammoth tusks and so forth go in the chest in the bedroom. Still a lot of [censored] in the chest (I'm not selling things as fast as I should) but it helps organize things a bit.

Good point. Rummaging through a foot locker is inherently gonna be a disorganized affair.
