Dragons?

Question. What is the differance between a dragon, and a wyvern? Seems to me ive been killing a lot if wyverns, and yet to see an actual dragon? Whats your thoughts?

Wyvern is just an english term for dragon. Nearly the same thing really.

Definition of Wyvern: "Winged, two-footed dragon".

You are taking the meaning of dragons/wyvrens from a different lore and implanting them here. Stop it.

A wyvern is a type of Dragon and it looks better and makes more sense than a "traditional" dragon.

It's also how they chose to design their dragons and they call them dragons and they have dragon traits.

Wyverns are quite different from dragons so you were fighting dragons but just didn't know it yet.

can we really apply any kore to this game ir just take definitions as absolute? All right, so wyverns have two legs, but are a type of dragon. So they are both?

A typical dragon has four legs and a pair of wings. A wyvern is a dragon with no front legs. So yes, Skyrim actually features wyverns (and a wyvern is a type of a dragon, so nothing's wrong here).

Wyvern has two, or no legs. Dragon usually has 4.

But really it's pointless to distinguish, they're both dragons.

The world of The Elder Scrolls has a different take on everything - i.e., the dwarves aren't short. If the lore calls them "dragons" and never uses the word "wyvern", then they're dragons, regardless of design, number of legs, or the player's personal experiences with these creatures in other fantasy settings - these things aren't universal.

I didn't realize wyverns were in lore. And for that matter, Skyrim.
I have read in fictional books (Dragonlance) that wyverns are small, lithe dragon-like creatures with no scales but an exoskeleton-like carapace and a tail reminiscent to a scorpion. I read that they do not breath fire or any type of element. They are like flying gila monsters
