Doing a quest (missing in action) I accidentally clicked id rather die when I was cought steeling the book. Now the guards kill me on sight and since I ran away autosave kicked in. Playing on ps3 if it matters.

Leave town and area. Go back. Talk to guard, pay bounty or jail time.

Save manually. A lot. It will prevent problems like this from happening in the future.
