Question for those on XBOX 360..

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:11 pm

Just so I can clarify, hopefully I'm not too annoying...

1) This problem doesn't hinder me, I just notice it when I'm up close/focused on a rock, if I don't, I barely notice it.
2) It does however become very ugly, almost nauseating to look at once I'm in a cave full of snow. Outside it's fine. Fields of snow look beautiful no matter what, it's only the rocks covered in snow
3) 1 + 2 can both easily be forgotten by me, all I need to know is if it's like this for others, so that I don't go out and buy a new 360 for no reason. If that's how the snowy rock textures are, that's how they are. This is still easily the most fun game I've ever played.

One more bump and I'll give up. Just looking for a bit more feedback.

Hum, never had the issue with my hands in first-person. Everything else looks more or less beautiful, just the snow covered rocks more or less look like Paris Hilton threw up all over them.

Do snow covered rocks look like utter garbage in your game? It's a legitimate question and I'm wondering if something is wrong with my xbox..I was in a Falmer cave which was covered in snow and I felt like I was in a PS1 game.

I love this game and in no way am I trying to troll, I seriously think my XBOX is screwed up...or something. Surely it can't look this bad?

Mine look like they should on the 360. Only had an environment glitch 1 time which was fixed after zoning into and out of a building.

Of course they look better on the PC since I've also downloaded some higher quality texture replacers hehe

I've had the occasional texture issue which I believe is due to having installed the game on my HDD (I refuse to install the 1.2 patch) but in all honesty I couldn't care less.

Yeah, I have a slim that's only a month old and snow covered rocks look like that. I haven't downloaded the newest patch though.

They look like the PC version. Clear and crisp (except when you try getting really really close on some wall textures which don't really look good until you are a few inches away from them)

My hands look good, trees look good, 3rd person looks good, rocks look good, wood textures look good and whatnot. It does not look like I'm trying to play Asherons Call or Everquest 1. Actually the zoning graphics even look crisper and sharper on the 360 than my PC version which kinda almost look washed out and pixally and not as sharp.

I suppose tonight I'll uninstall the game from my HD, delete the patch and re-install the patch without installing the game and try checking it out. Then test vice versa.

It's not just you. I refuse to load the latest patch so I think my textures are really starting to degrade Ex. I noticed solid white stuff in a distance in the mountains. As i got closer, the texture started popping in and I realized it was waterfalls. It was like the animation part was slowing coming on as I got closer and closer. More and more I am noticing the drawing distance issue people mentioned prior to patch 1.02. I just ignore it though because graphics is not that important to me.

Nope, Ive had one texture error though, where a house right next to the Blue Palace was blurred, the texture never loaded.

Hmm, it appears to be the same in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFeWBzxPZX0

If you don't focus on it, then you don't really notice it out in the wild...but once you're in a cave filled with snow, oh the horror...... :obliviongate:

It isn't so much as an issue, lastwolf, as it is incredibly ugly and bothersome to the eyes. Only when I'm in a snowy cave though, outside if I don't focus I don't notice. Do me a favor and load it up on the 360, head north to a snowy area and look closely at a rock. Does it look like a bird had diarrhea all over it? Honest question, if it doesn't, it doesn't. Just doesn't make sense to me.

That is the best video ever. Only because the guy svcks SO bad and he is constantly talking. Who runs from an enemy further into the dungeon, that is never a good idea. He keeps switching between 1 hand and 2 handed weapons and destruction. He is using flames(1 hand) against falmer, so sad. He just keeps dying.... And he saves in combat with multiple enemies and no health... now he is running away again. And now I know that a sphere can roll faster than you can run. He is impersonating a falmer, and he thinks the bear claw symbol for stormcloak bases is a bear cave. This is awesome :D. Dead with an arrow in the eye.

Back to topic, I have noticed certain rocks look like crap. Once I cast the vampie night vision in a cave full of those white snow rocks. I couldn't see for awhile... no seriously it was like a flashbang went off. The cave was actually dim so not sure why it happened.

LMFAO. I hadn't even watched the video, was just looking for ANY 360 gameplay in a snowy area. That's hilarious though.

It's how the game was mAde. Some textures are very low res on snow, it's the creation engine it loses close up textures on some surfaces (especially snow) to enable them to create a larger gameworld. Seriously, look past it and stop obsessing
