Import Morrowind "heads" into Oblivion?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 2:36 pm

Hi!
Hope I have placed this question in the correct forum section!
I wonder if its possible to import some of the faces from Westly headpack in Morrowind to some CM partner companions I have made?
I grew really attached to this faces playing Morrowind over the years and I really wish to see them in Oblivion.
In Morrowind I found it easy to change face textures on heads as meshes- and texture folders were easy to access and connect, but in Oblivion I dont know where to start??
I have some really nice face textures but I cant see where to put them, nor where to "connect" them with certain CM companions or custom NPC.
Would be really grateful for some help if this idear of mine is possible at all!? :wavey:

AFAIK Morrowind uses pre-defined meshes and textures to let you choose faces. Oblivion on the other hand uses FaceGen, which is highly complex. I'm pretty sure there's not really any way you can get the faces into Oblivion, both are completely incompatible.

Careful with this subject: discussion of using one game's assets within another's engine is strictly forbidden here.

On the constructive side: if you were using modded hair and faces for Morrowind, you could probably attach those .nif's to a head-slot item and just equip it. I'm sure it would take some tweaking to get the placement right, but I know similar tricks are done for custom hair, beards, etc., and for the "play as a goblin" mod.
