Framerate drops

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 4:39 am

You heard it, people. I am suffering from some minor to hefty framerate drops on my XBOX360. I checked the file size and it's about 5MB. This is prevalent outdoors and HEAVILY within caverns filled with frost and snow. I cleared the cache and the game is installed, running on the 1.2 patch. Still didn't work.

Any suggestions and did anyone else experience this?

I first noted some unusual high framerate loss yesterday (even after many days of gameplay after patch 1.2) - but it quickly disappeared.

Lucky you. I never had any serious complaint other than the Texture bug they fixed with 1.2. But this problem is persistent for about an hour and a half and it's annoying me and diminishing the joy of exploring new caverns and such.

Either way, seems I caught the PS3 flu with this one. ;]

I get really bad fps hits in certain dungeons (Shimmermist was the absolute worst for me). I've been looking at threads on the xbox technical help forums and it appears that many others are experiencing this as well. It may have something to do with an overabundance of particle effects in some interior cells - I don't think this is related to the PS3 lag issue (I hope...lol).

I noticed a HUGE framerate drop today when battling a glitching dragon (my first). The dragon was glitching all over the sky and the whole game was stuttering badly.

I haven't noticed this at any other time, though. Although I had three freezes in about an hour yesterday, which was also a first.

i'm getting it too , when the game first came out it worked pretty good, no major problems, but then the patch came i downloaded it, didn't like it, cleared the 360 cache so i lost the 1.1 patch, and that one was important i think, so ever since i'm totally unpatched and been playing offline yeah its doing that to me. i'm pretty sure the next patch will clear it up.

Also, Xbox360 user on patch 1.1 with framerate drops and crashes. It started for me when my save file hit 11mg and I had about 130 hrs in. Happens when I am in towns and just wandering outside. Does not happen when I am in dungeons though. Crashes happen when I go through doors. It is getting worse. I am at 200hrs. I deleted a ton of old save files and it helped for a while. But its back again. Maybe only have 2-3 save files at anytime.

Sometimes I'm just wondering about out near Whiterun or so and the whole game stutters about at around 2-5fps. It's ridiculous when it decides to melt on you. It usually sorts itself out, though.

Exactly the same thing happened to me a few days ago. It was annoying but god did I laugh. :D

I experienced the EXACT SAME THING while moving around in the world. A dragon glitched like there was no tomorrow, flying backwards .. all sorts and my framerate dropped horrendously. Have also experienced it a few times in snowy caves etc but other than that not really much. I've clocked 30 hours played now, so I'm guessing the PS3 bug is hitting us as well. Jeez you'd think this would have been repaired by now...

The size of my saved game is 14 Mb, and I haven't noticed any framerate drops except for when my xbox gets hot.
EDIT: Been playing for 200 hours now.
