Ebony Sword

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 8:12 am

So any one else done this quest in whiterun? I was wondering around and people kept telling me one of the Jaurl's kids was a nut, so i talked to him and started the questline....

ai read the journal and with great confidence that i would be able to handle the chaos inevetable to come as i am the main character...
Spoiler
i snagged the sword and wandered around while she talked to me

Spoiler
soooo... what now...? It seems like the quest line is done and it says the sword will gain power after slaying onesd close to you... do i need to kill my wife...? I mean i like the sword and the look, and it seems to swing faster than most... as well as the fact that i am a two hander i will use it (level 21 w/o smithing at 55 so no ebony yet) but i guess i am wondering whats next...? is there more included with this sword... or was that it...? and can i smith it up a bit after the magical enchant perk...?

Spoiler

I tried killing my wife, Lydia and Aela. Reloaded of course, since the Ebony Blade didn't react WHATSOEVER! Damn annoying, I guess it's a bug.
But the quest should've been longer. I Oblivion you had to kill one member of all the other races in a Tournament of Blood. That was at least fun.

Nope. But you can attack people and they do not treat it as assault. Bystanders do, though. That's all. :)

I left it in the room without touching it. Did not have any need for it, and i don't like unique Deadric items. I assume that it's stats will get boosted as soon you start killing friendlies with it.. So upgrading it with the grinding stone wouldn't be really neccessary. But i'm not sure.

Supposedly people you have done quests for, but all of them treat it as an assault for me, even if they have a high disposition.

Would it really have been so difficult to Google it?

People you've helped, who consider you a friend. For instance, whoever you helped in Riverwood in the love triangle quest.

The lady will talk to you sometimes after you make a kill (betrayal) with it, saying 'well done' and stuff. So you know you're on the right path to improving it.

Aye i spose i could have...

At any rate. what is the point of a two handed sword that uses one handed skills to upgrade... lame.. i might have to switch my tree to one handed now seeing as all the other unique two handed weapons are axes and hammers... , there goes an hour of re-perking!

While the perk thing is a bug, the sword does use 2h skill as its damage modifier at least.

The thing about killing people you have done quests for is incorrect.

None of the people I did quests for would stand there and take the hits. They'd all give me bounties.

You have to kill two people that trust you. If you kill one person, then reload when there's no effect, you're not going to get any improvement.

No problem, just find two argonians and split their skulls. The Bee and Barb is cozy. :hubbahubba:
