Wood Bows and Leather Armor

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:10 am

If anyone has experience with this mod, would you mind helping me out for a spell?

I suspect the original thread is long gone, and the author provided no documentation in the file available for download, nor on the page of download.

Now I can find the items, of course, via coc TestingHall, but I need to know if the author has added them to the world or to a merchant's list, since I am planning on merging it.

A description (of the BAB [body type] version of this mod) from Arwen's Oblivion pages:

Leather armor designed primarily for archers.

Arwen Note: this mod actually contains so much more than I ever expected. There's an entire ranger/archer camp where you can purchase some of the best looking ranger clothing in the game - along with a really great collection of beautifully made wooden bows. And you can even buy materials for crafting your own wooden arrows. The ranger/archer camp is just south of the Wawnet Inn (south west of the Imperial City).

I hope that is enough to go on...

Brash has been active on the forums very recently on community discussion about DRM/Steam - just search the name.

The rangers just stand around more or less - they will conflict with weye mods though. They stand right in the middle of AFK Weye for instance.

I'm pretty sure Pseron Wyrd will let Brash know. :)

Ah, good! We can't have it conflicting with AFK Weye, now can we?

I think Brash's mod works amazingly well with AFK Weye, considering they're so close to each other. There are no terrain rips and, to my eye at least, the overall effect looks a lot like one big mod. I'm sure Brash's tents and targets are closer to AFK's fences and buildings than she would have placed them had she known about AFK Weye. And one of Brash's archers starts the game inside AFK's wheat field (though, to his credit, he manages to get out and over to the archery range in my games). But I actually like the look of both mods together. Having an archery range so close to Weye makes the place feel more alive to me. But it's a matter of taste. Others might feel it's too crowded.

Brash's mod does not work with TamaraVico's Weye: The Imperial City Suburbs, however. Tamara's mod is much larger and sprawls right over Brash's archery range.

In my game they all started in the farm field. That is what I recall anyway.

While not game breaking - mods like AFK weye already add a lot of NPCs to the area so if there is any concern over a lot of high level processing then this is just adding more to that pile. On my rig it is game breaking.

It is just one of those areas of the game that is over-modded.

I recall contacting you, Pseron, on Behalf of John123 for inclusion of these bows and armor in his http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35369. I don't think he got around to them unfortunately. They would be awesome to have in leveled list format.

I love this mod and have been using the BABerized version for a long time. I was turned onto it by Arwen and Pseron Wyrd was kind enough to answer any questions I had about it. My only complaint is easily fixed. The rangers are near a forest predator spawn point and can soon be attrited by wolves, lions and such. Fixing this was as simple as opening the command console, tagging a ranger and typing in: setrefessential 1. Repeat for each ranger. That command is great if you have OBSE installed. :foodndrink:

Hehe Pseron, I knew after you posted it in the Skyrim Forum a new thread would crop up here. Can't keep a good mod down.
