Seeking a Better Night-Eye Mod...

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 2:53 pm

Is there any sort of mod out there that alters the Night Eye effect so that it functions exactly as it did in Morrowind? The whole "searing blue light" effect is completely unappealing to my eyes, making it one of the most useless spell effects I'm in possession of.

I'm not looking for anything fancy, or a mod that "changes Night Eye and any random number of other things that I don't want changed". Morrowind kept things simple by having Night Eye gradually enhance the brightness around the player based on the magnitude of the spell or enchantment used, so I'm looking for a mod that does the exact same thing.

One that works the same as MW's doesn't exist in the Oblivion modded world.
Timeslip's shaders will allow multiple choices so you should be able to pick one that suits.

The still screenshots don't really do some of those justice, by the way. I'm personally a raving fan of the Circular Expand option, because it does two things that I think really help balance night-eye: gives you a bit of tunnel vision (more distortion toward the edges), and causes bright lights to pretty much blind you if you look at them.

The few shaders in this OMOD that looked close to what I'm looking for are still way too bright. :shocking:

Does anyone happen to know if there's a tutorial that will show me how to create & use my own shaders for this spell effect?
