gold horse courier building - black screen

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:12 pm

Sometimes, when I attempt to enter the gold horse courier buildings in any given city, I get an instant black screen. Sometimes I have to reboot, sometimes I have to ctrl+alt+delete, and sometimes it ctd's. My mod list is quite small so I can't imagine it would be a conflict, all I run is better cities, unique landscapes (+all patches), All Natural, enahanced economy, OOO, portable campsite, enhanced water, streamline and the official and unofficial patches. I have only logged about 27 hours on the save.

The only other bugs I ever seem to get in the game are frozen npcs and the odd audio glitch (hit-sounds/spells not playing occasionally), but I think they may be down to streamline (from what I have read).

Also, during the 27 hours played, I have only had one CTD. Everything is run through wrye bash, with a bashed patch, and through BOSS.

Any ideas on these small yet niggling problems?

Might be the nVidia Black Screen bug, if you have an nVidia card, that is.

Wrye Bash can fix primary cause of the bug in the Bashed Patch. I'd also recommend turning off Interior Shadows if you experience it, too, as that is another known cause for the bug.

No, it is not the nVidia black screen bug, as this building is added by Better Cities, and all interiors either added by or edited by Better Cities already contain the simple fix (really a work-around) to prevent that bug from occurring.

Which is why I mentioned Interior Shadows, as I have confirmed for myself that having those on caused the bug to occur.

But that one occurs only when you're in Sneak mode. If the OP isn't sneaking around, then the problem is something worse.

OP, could you post your full load order?

That's a different bug :) I know of it, and I don't believe there is a way to work around it with mod editing (though if disabling interior shadows avoids it, that'll have to do).

Tiris, you listed:
All Natural - Indoor Weather Filter For Mods.esp - (this is imported into the bashed patch, but not activated)

Please read that bit in brackets and confirm that you have followed the instruction and kept this ESP inactive.

Then what happens when you rebuild the bash patch without that ESP?
