Favorite Hold and City!

Well, this is another community poll. Personally, I like Markarth and the Reach, because they are arguably the most beautiful (and unique) places in Skyrim. What do you like?

I like the top of the mountain, because of the view. City, Whiterun.. for the view too. It has best location, imo, and there is always great weather. Its not small either, has everything I want.

Whiterun.
Because it is Edoras and it's on the plains like Rohan.

Whiterun is the nicest city. Markarth is a close second.
Windhelm has the nicest house though, and that would probably be where I hang out the most.

The Reach is my favorite hold to roam though.

Winterhold with it's college. The icy, unwelcoming north. The frozen islands and icebergs in the Sea of Ghosts.

As for city, Windhelm. It's the major trading port of the northeast.

Try putting what your favorite inn and store is too. I would like that in the poll. I like Solitude and the Whiterun Hold.

I LOVE the fall forest area of The Rift, though my favorite city is Whiterun. While it's rather plain, it's the first one you find. It's the most regular city in the middle of the plains, and I really like it for some reason. It also has the best level design, meaning flow and layout.

It's a toss-up between Whiterun and Solitude. And Hjaalmarch I like 'cause it's a cool name.

I'd like Whiterun a lot more if I could shake the feeling that it, and Riverrun, weren't handed to me on a platter. I can see the developers talking now - "Let's create a perfect place for the new player to get started!"

Solitude is my favourite city. Imperial culture, amazing architecture, beautiful locale, great views, sunshine. Overall lovely place. It's hold, Haafingar, isn't too bad, but up to the border with High Rock is too mountainous and snowy (an ingenious complaint in Skyrim I guess).

My preferred hold is probably the Rift - while Riften is a hive of scum and villainy, it's countryside is beautiful. Oh, to walk along the shores of the still lake and see the autumnal leaves fall delicately down is bliss. That said, the frequent spiders are an annoyance, but at least they're not wolves.

I like Riverrun, the tiny little mountain village vibe with the misty wisps and rainy green trees reminds me of the pacific northwest or something. And it reminds me of how amazing Skyrim was when I first started playing ( I can't believe after 130 hours or so how nostalgic I am about only 3 weeks in the past)

I was about to vote Windhelm, but then I remembered that there's not much to do there story/quest-wise. So I voted for Markarth. Reason? I'm Norwegian, so I had seen all of the game before IRL, except Markarth of course  oh, and Forsworn Conspiracy/ Haunted House/ Museum were amazing. OH and the house in Markarth is easily the best.

Yeah, meant Windhelm. I always mix those up. :shakehead:

Going to correct my post.
