Dialog sub-titles vanish too rapidly

This problem occurs on my secondary computer, which has its own Oblivion install. I use it mainly to test new (to me) and/or questionable mods. But it does have a fully functional play-through with nearly 1k hours on it. Sometime within the past three or four months dialog subtitles have become short duration, as if Elys Universal Silent Voice isn't installed. But it is. OBSE log shows it initializing properly each session. What's more, it seems like even vanilla voiced dialog suffers from this, rather than just unvoiced mod-added dialog. It's a bit had to tell, since that computer lacks a sound-card...which of course means I rely totally on those sub-titles.

Here's my load-order. I'd be surprised if it is load-order related. With only a very few exceptions the load-order between my primary and secondary computer are these days identical. And my primary computer doesn't suffer this:

Some Oblivion.ini setting that got jacked around somehow? An obscure Bashed Patch setting? (That computer uses a CBash Patch, btw.)

Have you tried clean saving the Elys USV dll? It's a goofy idea, I know, but I'm all about those. :)
