EVE HGEC Eyecandy Variants Expansion

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:18 pm

Hi,

I decided I would give this a go because my character is female and the standard armour is a bit "frumpy"... lol.

Anyway, I've followed the (excellent) instructions, used OBMM and got it installed, as far as I can tell.

BUT - when I play the game, nothing seems different, all of the armour that I can see looks the same and there seems to be nothing for sale that looks any different - I am only level 1 in the Imperial City though.
I'm using the HGEC body textures, but that's fine and I don't have any other armour/clothing replacers.

Is it simply that this does not change every item and I just have not found the right items, or is it a problem? I've ordered the plugins so they load last, I've confirmed that the textures are in the directory but I just cannot tell if it's made any difference. Am I expecting too much...?

Any advice, gratefully received.

Yours puzzled (again),
Mat

Anyone?
I am a bit puzzled about it, and it's a shame coz I actually would like some more "feminine" armour but NOT the kind of Frank Frazetti stuff...!

Well I cannot vouch for the OMOD or its choices for EVE, but it should give you ..

Female meshes

Female Textures

Female Stock Clothing and Armour to fit the above meshes ('Stock' as in replacements for the vanilla oblivion originals)

The only customisation in EVE is an alternate off the shoulder version of a few of the clothing (dresses) - Or at least that option is given in the BAIN for us Wrye Bash users.

If you want to use the Optional files, they are to make other mods compatible with EVE, for instance if you use Armamentarium, and the EVE female body, you will also need the Armamentarium EVE optional file to make Armamentarium armour compatible.

If you dont have Armamentarium installed, then you dont need to replace its files wih the Armamentarium optional files .. They are useless without the original mod they are intended for.
Quite a few of them are BAINs too, so you cant install those with OBMM.

You can also add to your setup any custom clothing and armour which is also Exnem/HGEC body type compatible (which is what EVE is based on), for instance Apachii Goddess Store.

I am actually using the Eisen Platte mod, which is particularly awesome - I think...
I'm gonna give those ones a go though, as well.

Thank you for your help! :)
Everyone in these forums is always really helpful - it's quite refreshing really.

Are you using a form of BSA Redirection?
Have you rebuilt your bashed patch? (I believe these are tagged with Graphics)

I don't believe you'll see a "drastic" change with this, it adds clothing that fits HGEC body. Also looks like it provides female versions of certain armors. Did you buy steel or chainmail cuirass and try it on?

I bought leather and fur actually but I just couldn't see any difference between what I bought after modding and what I bought pre-modding...

and um...
...what's a bashed patch...?

Try the Official thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1064803-relz-evehgec-eyecandy-variants-for-stock-and-mods-relz/page__st__140

The Bashed Patch is a feature of Wrye Bash. A powerful utility to manage mods. A bit more of a learning curve than OBMM but well worth it.

Unless you messed up the install somehow, have you checked that you have BSA Redirection set?
Spoiler
In OBMM:
click Utilities
click Archive invalidation
check BSA redirection
Check Update now

Hi yeah I have set that up now. I should have checked the thread I did search but obviously wasn't looking hard enough - (it was late) - I'll go on there and see.
I've found OBMM really good. I did install - briefly - Wrye Bash but it failed so I need to find out why on the Official Thread.
I'll have a look, I'm happy enough with what I've got at the moment anyway if I'm honest!!

Thank you for your help,
Mat
