Streamline not using the INI file

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 1:57 pm

With streamline 3.1 I set it to only use 2 slots for streamsaves but this keep trying to go up to 60, so I tried to turn off streamsaving and ti still did. Does the sl.ini need to be in a particular spot for this to work as intended? I m using the Steam version of Oblivion with OBSE 0020 if that makes a difference.

In-game you need to re-initialise settings.

Streamline reads its settings from the obse saves file, if you change the ini for streamline you need to let streamline know it has changed ...

In game, use the streamline menu hotkey combination, press right Ctrl + Home keys, you will get the streamline in-game menu pops up. "Special Actions" button, and choose the Re-Initialize option.

Streamline only reads its ini once after you installed it. Thereafter it uses the settings from the obse save, assuming that any further changes will have been done in game through the menu.

Also if you install streamline via a mod manager, get your streamline ini settings perfect for your setup and then re-pack the streamline archive with your settings .. That way any further future installation of streamline will have your ini the way you want it (make sure you have a backup of the original though for reference, I think though streamline does have a backup default as part of its installation)

Didn't see this in the readme but will give it a shot later today and see if it works.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Yep I dont know if the original streamline has all the documentation, but Wrye's BAIN version of it does http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22170

For personal use I expanded the BAIN to have the ini in separate sub-packages so that I could have a custom ini and settings for whichever machine I install it on.

When you re-initialise settings, the ini is re-read by the mod, and then your next save keeps those settings thereafter.

Or, alternately, you can open the console, and type "startquest streamline2". This is coming from memory, so you can verify by reading the last line in the streamline ini that indicates this command.
