You can shout really loud, big deal, you cannot shout when there's sword stuck in your throat.

In morrowind you were known across the land as Nerevarine, the Slayer of Dagoth Ur, Destroyer of Blight, reincarnation of St. Indoril Nerevar, Chosen of Azura, a demi god untouched by age or disease. In Oblivion you were known as the Hero of Kvatch, Protector of Bruma, champion of cyrodil and eventually - sheogorath himself. In skyrim, you are known as "citizen" once you beat alduin.
At least in OB you had an Adoring Fan you could play with or abuse. Skyrim has no fans, only followers who even follow you in bed while blocking the door the next morning trying to get out. Stupid N'wahs! :hubbahubba:

You kill dragons in front of people. They stand and watch as you absorb a dragon soul. They say "I never believed this to be true", "I wouldn't have believe it if I didn't see it with my own eyes". The bards all sing "the dragonborn comes". Surely word should have spread around by now.

Oh, and the same people who see you do the dragon-soul-absorb thing and comment how this is "from the old legends", then tell you "hands to yourself, sneak thief". Bethesda always loved destroying their own games. Someone in there in their dev team svcks major. We need to identify who it is and get him/her fired so the next TES game won't be as ****ed up as this again.

I think some people are forgetting:

"It's you! The Hero of Kvatch!"

"I saw your fight with the Grey Prince"

"Hail, Divine Crusader"

200,000,000 times.

I certainly don't mind it. The only thing I hate is nazeem in whiterun

Edit: Although I certainly miss Wes Johnson's sixy voice

I agree, this is true.

I'm the thieve's guildmaster and i don't feel any respect at all from anybody in the cistern. Instead i get comments like if i was a new comer in the place. svck big time.

It's not like it's really hard to filter/privilege some dialog over other based on reputation and achievements.

"I used to be a dragonborn like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee."

I get that most people don't know me, and that's fine. But it's silly when they've just seen me kill a dragon and absorb its soul.

I might go lollygag on purpose just to spite them.

I got to thinking: maybe I'm the Dragonborn, and just don't know it.

The worst thing is the kids that are all cocky at you. They aren't scared of you. When they should be.

You cut a dragon skull open and laugh to yourself.
You decapitate a Draugr Deathlord and feel the tickle as he hits you with his hardest attack.
You slaughter anyone in your path.
Your voice tears peoples souls from their bodies.
Your the [censored] Dovahkiin.

Wussy, the little girl could take you on any day.

Bethesda simply tried to add in "immersion", but only for newcomers (as these issues have been addressed greatly during Oblivion, especially the Archmage problem), and for newcomers indeed: their comments make sense when you're but a simple new recruit.

I'm tired of hearing a guard saying I favor the bow while I have no bow in my inventory (or any arrow!) and a Daedric War Axe is hanging from my waist. No, thanks, my One Handed is 23 points above the Archery

And sneak thief? WTF? Have you even ever caught me stealing anything?

I'm the goddarned Dragonborn. Your cousin, who fought alongside me at Western Watchtower was the first to spit out stuff about Dragonborn blah blah blah, did he not tell you about it?

I like this thread! Brings up an issue that needs addressing and it's funny! I wish more threads were like this.

Funny. None of that ever stopped the Fighter's Guild from sending me to kill rats.

haha. the worst one is definitally the "oh you favor the bow, eh? Im a sword man myself" when my one handed skill is 100 with a ton of perks in it and my archery is 40 with no perks.

Mod needed: Make skill comments based on what you're wearing/your actions, not your actual skill values. This is one that should have gotten better after Oblivion, not worse!

Maybe if we're lucky, Beth will at least patch it so that your skills have to be higher than 40 before NPCs start commenting on them. Like, shut up about my skills unless they're 90+!

That's what I love about TES. :D You save Morrowind, and people are still n'wah-ing you worse than ever. I mean, it's been ages since I finished the main quest, but do they even actually notice you're the Nerevarine - in game ? As for the attitude, I do seem to remember clearly that, err, I didn't notice much of an improvement. :P

I recall the NPCs making a big deal about me being the Nerevarine. Never stopped them from giving me stupid little fetch quests, but it was nice of them to notice.

OMG, that little girl..."I'm not afraid of you, even if you are my elder!"

Oh, honey, no. I'm walking around town in full heavy armor, my face covered by a steel mask, a razor-sharp war axe on my back, being followed by a borderline lunatic in a horned helmet, and you think you could TAKE ME? The DRAGONBORN?

Except the horrible thing is that if she could fight (which she can't), she could take me because she can't die!

The dragonborn, felled by a 12-year-old girl...
