Werewolf: Obsolete?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:30 pm

I don't know if i'm just playing it wrong, but it seems like the werewolf form becomes obsolete after you hit level 20 or so. Am I playing wrong, or is this happening to anyone else?

Honestly I only use it as a replacement for my horse. And even then not too often. I love the disease immunity from the beast-blood, though, is the main reason I haven't cured it.(level 39, never transform for combat).

No, the damage you do scales with you, and you always get 100 more health than what you currently have.

But I hardly use it. I play a mage and I use it when I come against a single boss that I want to blitz.

Keep doing quests for Aela (spelling?) of the Companions for artifacts and do Hircine's quest. They boost the werewolf a bit.

From what I've read, the damge you receive and the damage you give, levels with your one-hand and light armor skills.

What? I never heard that. From looking at the game guide it says that the damage you do goes up like every 4 or 5 levels. Haven't heard anything about armor

Werewolf damage is almost certainly based on your one handed skill. Haven't heard anything about light armor either, though.

I don't know if it becomes obsolete necessarily, it's still probably powerful, but it's definitely not needed at high level.

I used it to kill my first giant in the teen levels when I was having difficulty doing it normally. Now I let giants hit me to level my heavy armor.

Yes, werewolves become pointless by level 21 or so. At that point there is almost nothing you can do in your wolf form that you can’t do in your human form. There will however be an insane list of the things you can do in your human form that you can’t do in your wolf form. I’ve seen some mods made to fix this by the eastern bloc but without a CK they are still lacking. When the CK comes out, give it two weeks and you’ll have a werewolf to be proud of.

At level 46 it's still fun to clear a bandit cave in the beast form. Just use the sprint attack often.

I've played a light armor-wearing 2h-barbarian and a heavy armor-wearing dual-wielder and with my experiences, the werewolf transformation is much more effective with the 2h light armor. With heavy armor and dual wielding you're basically a tank with the front of a combine attached. Being a werewolf as a barbarian gives you faster attack speed and more health

Huh??? The only bonus you get in your human form when you are a werewolf is immunity to disease. There are no boosts to any stats whatsoever.
Werewolf form uses 1H skill for damage modifier and supposedly light armor skill as a defensive modifier. You do not retain any bonus from the armor you’re wearing when you transform.
