Red Ring Road crash

Issue solved.

I've encountered a reoccurring crash area.
The area is the far west side of the red ring road, where the oblivion gate spawns, north of Fort Empire. Sometimes I can walk through, sometimes I can't, but it always crashes within less than 10 or so minutes, regardless if I travel to another load space, such as inside the oblivion gate. It also doesn't seem to matter if I approach it from the East or from the South. I haven't tried to approach the area from the North or the West yet.

At first I thought it was an overload of RAM causing the issue, but just before the crash, I've checked my task manager, only 1 gig was being used. Not exactly overworking the oblivion engine yet.
I thought maybe it was a mod, and having checked what unique landscapes mods I've been using in that area, I disable the lush woodlands. That appeared to do the trick, and I made my way from Bruma to the IC. After leaving and walking through that area days (in-game) later, I'm having the same problem, so clearly it wasn't UL.

I've begun to think that maybe it's the oblivion gate, but I'm unsure. After toggling the free camera to look around, everything has seemed to load fine by the oblivion gate, it seems to be whatever is beyond it that's causing this.. But I'm not sure.

I'll post my load order, I'm just wondering if anyone's ever encountered this issue in this particular area. It's rather annoying to have to walk completely around it every time I'm heading through.

I don't see anything strange from your LO, but I'm unpractical with FCOM builds, since I played it just some weeks two years ago.

Have you tried to toggle AI off and see if it is AI-related? Usually persistent CTDs are AI-related if there is some spawn point in zone.
If it is... well, there ends my poor knowledge of game mechanics :(
I hope somebody else could prove himself more useful for you than me.

Hey, as long as you're trying, I'd say you're useful lol.

Either way, toggled the ai off, still got a crash. I walked all around for a little bit to make sure the crash didn't happen anywhere else but this general location (at least around where I was), and when I finally started heading back to the area, in a few moments it crash. I really have to lean toward it trying to load something and the files not being there... I just have no idea how to go about finding this out, or finding out what missing files could be causing this.

Is this a recent phenomenon occurring in a long-running play through? If so double check and insure you aren't suffering from (or approaching) the a-bomb. Consistent CTD tied to certain areas or actions with no obvious cause has been a symptom of the bomb for me in times past, even when I didn't experience the animation freezes commonly associated with the a-bomb. It's a far shot, and likely not your issue, but worth a look-see "just in case".

After looking up the A-bomb and using the utility in Wrye-Bash to repair this, I'm going to say that's probably not my issue, as it's still crashing.

I'm going through a hunt for which mods (if any) I think are behind this...
So far everything imported to my bashed patch and FCOM are out, which is really surprising, although comforting, I'd hate to have to find a fix through those giant messes lol. I may find the issue or not, just thought I'd post this again to see if anyone could look at the reduced list and find something buggy in there.

Found the issue.
Shining Creatures.
It makes sense, considering the oblivion gate I'm by... I guess there's a conflict I don't know about with some of the newer mods I've installed.

I'll go look into this.
