Shout Storm Call Kills my followers

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 8:08 am

Storm Call shouldn't kill your followers since there's no way to direct the attack then your followers should be immune to it like you are. I only have about 6 shouts so far and when I first got storm call I couldn't wait to use it. So I go outside and shout it and the first thing I hear is my follower/wife yell "hey! I'm on your side!" and when I turn to look at her to see what's going on a bolt of lightning fries her hide. Then my poor war dog yelps and gets fried too. That really pissed me off that the devs didn't make followers immune. They need to patch this.

Quick edit actually it kills any friendly ncp so it's useless for any quests that has followers or friendlies around.

Lightning is just energy, it has no intelligence. Be a responsible Dovahkiin and don't use the shout around friends.

I think it is perfect for my character, so I have no complaints. He uses storm atronachs as followers, which have immunity to lightning. (Or at least they should.... somehow they lost it in the latest patch.)

I like that this shout is treated like one of the master level spells such as Firestorm and Blizzard, because those damage your followers indiscriminately as well. In fact Blizzard will damage you while the others do not, so you should complain about that one instead of storm call.

Um, yeah, it does. Working as intended.

You call lightning from the sky, and you expect it to adhere to the laws of friendly fire? It's lightning. From the sky.

Which is one reason why my solitary thief-archer uses it all the time. Nobody to friendly fire, so everyone's fair game.

So, you want lightning to obey the laws of friendly fire?

That's like asking a nukes blast to go around friendly NPCs.

All spells affect friendly NPCs. Your Fire Bolts hit them if they are in the way. Your Chain Lightning bounces to them. Your Fus-to-dah knocks them over.

Be a responsible caster :P

I believe the point was that they didn't want you to use it in town... or while you have assistance...
