Timescale on PS3 fix

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 7:12 pm

I am 50 hours in and have been experiencing some lag from the large save game file.

I understand this is a historic problem having been present on PS3 in Fallout NV.

Can anyone estimate a time line based on the fix they did for that?

Cant put Skyrim down but i dont want to plough on if a fix is around the corner?

How long should i wait??

Hard to say.

Mainly because they haven't said whether or not they are going to fix it.

They are never going to fix it, once they have your money who cares, they will be on holidays soon, and yes New Vegas is still broken, so skyrim will be broken for ever as well

dont really think a fix is on the way. most people with better knowledge of the ps3 architecture than I think this problem started from day 1 of development. might not be a patchable problem. so instead we're just rear-ended

I've removed the game from my PS3 and won't play it again until I hear feedback from actual gamers here that it's been fixed. I won't allow this to damage my hardware because of frequent lockups/crashes. I was duped for the $60 purchase because I played Oblivion and Fallout on the Xbox and just assumed Skyrim would perform equally well on the PS3. I can tell you this, if they do fix this framerate problem and the game becomes playable again than I'll finish up all the quests and then trade the game in. I WILL NOT be buying any DLC for this title. A couple weeks ago I said I wouldn't buy another Bethesda title on the PS3 but would likely buy for Xbox. This absolute train wreck of professionalism and communication from them has soured me to the point that I'll very likely never buy another Bethesda game again, period.

Twice now I have had a major crash on my Ps3 that has caused my system to do a scan for corruption. I have never had any other game have this issue. Even Fallout NV (which gave me such issues I quit until they made it playable) never gave me that problem. This latest patch svcks as I have had very little issues before and now I get crashes and weird bugs all the time. I get off my horse only to have it fly in reverse back to where I got on it, WTF. I so would have bought this for my 360 if it was working. But now I'm at the same decision. Do I quit now and wait for a patch that will make the game more playable (or in this latest patch incident less playable), or do I forge on and risk corruption? I'm going to give it a little bit longer and see what happens.

As for the major lag when the game gets 50 plus hours... I've noticed a major difference if you turn off the auto save feature. It really went from major lag issues to practically none but that was pre-latest patch so I will see how this new character gets along once the save file gets up to the 12 mb area.

guys let me understand something...I was playing on PC before change to XBOX360 (comfort issues).. so actually I am on level 10 yet, a few hours played, but I never suffered from low fps...yet...

Is this problem just happening on ps3?

and another question, I have a lot of saves (auto saves and custom saves), the total amount of the file is based in all saves together? or just one?
