Unofficial "what do you want!?" Thread

The biggest gaping hole in the game bar none is the lack of Spellmaking.

I miss it almost every time I use magic in some way.

Every time I finish with the Alchemy and Enchanting tables.
Every time my destruction spells have not done the job,
Every time I my use of magic results in one or more enemies by my side pounding away on me with melee weapons.
Every time I'm in a middle of a fight and I think how a spell could of been better suited to my current situation if I could just adjust it.
Every time I wish I could turn my companion invisible.
Every time I have no choice but to abandon magic or die.
Every time the fight ends with a weapon in my Mage's hand... which is just about every time.

The UI is annoying, there is lots of bugs, AI is wonky and Dragon attacks in towns are killing store owners and quests left and right. Those things are problematic, but the removal of Spellmaking is a fundamental design flaw that has noticeably hurt gameplay.

I'd like to see the the following:

  • Race specific questline(s)
  • The ability to train as a bard and play instruments, which would then give you some sort of morale boost/bonus.
  • Faster horses. Currently It feels like horses are not much faster than running.
  • Ability to put poison on your arrows.
  • Blowpipes.
  • Bigger variety of monsters.
  • Ability to add/type in your characters back story in the game.
  • Different and/or additional character view where I can see my character, turn him around etc. and see all perks/skills/items in use or equipped on one screen.

Officially I want patch 1.2 sent to Oblivion.

Indeed. Is it just me or does it seem like the consumer crowd has slowly become the beta testing crowd?

To be more on subject...I want to know why I can't create a weapon out of every type of material. Namely, perhaps a Dragon Bone Bow? Dragon Scale Dagger?
And why can't we create staffs? They could be used as a weak 2 hander until enchanted and then it would be a staff of summoning or one to throw fireballs with.
A black ebony mage staff would be kind of nice, aesthetically speaking. With shiny diamonds in it. Hmm, that might make it a pimp cane though..."HO CONJURATION A GO GO!"

Armour pieces returned to the game - Leggings, Pauldrons, Gauntlets.
Scabbards and visible weapons when dual wielding - only one appears.
Thief 3-esque lockpicking

OP you should compile the ideas in your original post if you are willing to do so.

Idk if this was mentioned but I want all the Daedra back. Summonable and throughout the world in random dungeons.

My x-mas wish for this year.

First and formost add meaning to the GM roles.
Let my actions affect outcomes.
I.e, I am GM in The Thieves Guild, we want to grow and retake our former glory and earn money. What's the point in doing the repetative quests you get from i.e Vex when nothing ever happens anyway? The treasure room does not even show money is coming in to the guild. This goes for all GM roles out there, let the role of a GM actually be meaningful. Let us handle tough situations, make decitions and choices for the guilds future. Or keep an npc as GM (how it feels anyway) and make us it's right hand.

Sidenote: I have been GM in the companions for over 150 played hours, I am not the newest recruit anymore, please make sure npc's follow the progress.

I have seen horse armor mentioned, smithing it and all that would be cool...but what about saddle bags? or a cart? Remember Daggerfall?...
Would be cool if you want to play a merchant character or if you are an obsessive compulsive loot hoarder....like me :whistling:

I know it may sound like something that is no big deal but I love customization. Just being able to create a character maybe nobody else has. Somewhere in the game where you can change your face, face paint, color of armor, robes etc....

It would make it a lot better imo.

I would love to be able to play co-op i mean imagian the fun you could have with that for example. your running down a hallway full of those dead guys (cant rember there name) and your'e about to die your friend starts to heal you. then you kill all of the dead guy things. Also a dragon is attacking you pull put your epic sword and your friend dual wields magic and together you anilahte the dragon.
