I read somewhere that there is a Main Quest Disabler mod, but I can't find it, does anyone know where one is? bliviongate:

Get an alternate start mod like Arthmoor's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37382, start in an alternate location not related tot he MQ, and never ever pick the amulet of Kings.

Also, I guess you should not go to Kvatch either... Not sure if you will get rid of all instances where the MQ is referenced though.

I've ignored the MQ forever, and I've been playing since 2006. Never really started the MQ, always get distracted. Maybe this time, before I get to Skyrim.

Get main quest delayer from nexus, it won't stop the main quest but will let you decide when you want it, there's an alternative vanilla start, you can have Kvatch rebuilt and actually go there before the attack and get on with your life, when you feel like it you must punch an imperial officer on the imperial city and you will get arrested and taken to the imperial dungeon.

The use of console commands is another option. tcl through everything, then setstage if/when you feel like doing the MQ again.

I'd like to throw in another vote for Main Quest Delayer with Alive Kvatch (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19949). I love that mod so much I never want to play Oblivion again without it.
